    Lisboa. Lisbon's ancient name was Olisipo.

Lisbon is on the northern bank of which river?
    Tagus. The River Tagus (Tejo) in Portugese has its source in the Sierra De Cuenca in Spain and runs through most of the Iberian Peninsula, before it broadens and enters the Atlantic Ocean by Lisbon.

Lisbon's old quarters are dominated by a castle, can you name it?
    Sao Jorge. This medieval fortress crowns one of Lisbon's oldest quarters, Alfama.

Lisbon was recently the venue for the 'World Expo', in what year?
    1998. The park in which 'Expo 98' was held is now called 'O Parque Das Nacoes', The Nations Park.

A new crossing of the Tagus River was inaugurated in time for the exposition. It was named after a famous Portugese historical figure. What is the bridge called?
    Ponte Vasco Da Gama. Vasco Da Gama rounded the Cape of Good Hope and discovered the much sought after 'Sea route to India'.

The University of Lisbon, founded in 1292, was transfered to another city. What is the city called?
    Coimbra. Coimbra's university is one of the oldest established centers of learning in the country.

On the southern bank of the Tagus River, and looking toward Lisbon is a huge statue of whom?
    Christ. The monument to Christ the King originated from a visit to Rio de Janeiro (where there is a similar monument)by Cardinal Cerejeira, in September 1934. The monument was inaugurated on May 17th 1959.

The 'eagles' of Lisbon are just one of the nicknames given to the once mighty Benfica. The prestigious soccer club play their home games at which stadium?
