Fun Trivia: M : Monkees

Special Sub-Topic: Monkee Menagerie II--Season Two

What's the name of the episode that started off season two of "The Monkees"?

"It's A Nice Place To Visit". Episode #33 was originally the ninth episode produced for "The Monkees'" second season but NBC chose to use it as the second season premiere. Most information for this quiz was gathered at "The Monkees Film & TV Vault" (http://members.tripod.com/~ahiii/monkeesfilmTV.html). Please use this website as the reference on my trivia questions unless otherwise stated.

In "The Picture Frame" (episode #34), what did the sign on the Monkees' table in the courtroom read?
"Vote Innocent". Look for this sign on the table that the Monkees are sitting behind as they cross-examine various witnesses in the courtroom. This takes place after they are arrested for unknowingly robbing a bank and they're in court acting as their own lawyers.

Who does Michael see smashing a piano with a silver mallet in "Art, For Monkees' Sake" (episode #37)?
Liberace. This is a funny scene and in the background, you can see Michael Nesmith laughing at what's going on.

In "Hillbilly Honeymoon" (a.k.a. "Double Barrell Shotgun Wedding") (episode #39), what does Michael Nesmith mention for the first time in a "Monkees" episode?
That he's married and has a child.. When Ellie Mae is flirting with Mike in her cabin she says, "I think you're cute!" He responds with, "So does my wife and kid" as he tries to get away from her.

In "The Card-Carrying Red Shoes" (episode #41), what is Natasha's nickname for Peter?
Face. Natasha thinks Peter is very handsome so she ends up calling him "Face" (as in "Look at that face!"). At then end of the episode, she decides they are too different to have a relationship and she introduces him to her new boyfriend, Alexi, who looks exactly like Peter! This is the second episode where Pete has girl troubles. The first one was with Valleri in episode #13, "One Man Shy" (a.k.a. "Peter And The Debutante").

"The Monkees Christmas Show" (episode #47) is the last time this person made an appearance on the show.
Mr. Schneider. This is the only holiday-themed episode and was shot during the week of Thanksgiving to boot.

What is Micky trying to say back at the pad after the ill-fated audition in "The Monkees' Paw" (episode #51)?
The Gettysburg Address. Look closely and you can see he starts out by saying, "Four score and seven years ago..."

The Monkeemobile's license plate number shows up in various episodes of "The Monkees". Which one of these has NOT been used as the number?
MPDM 66. The license number 'NPH-623' is seen in episode #25 ("Alias Micky Dolenz") near the beginning as Micky is walking across the parking lot of the police station. In episode #32 ("The Monkees On Tour"), it shows the license plate number as '57A-MFG-015'. The license number 'PEN 540' is seen in episode #53 ("The Monkees Race Again" a.k.a. "Leave The Driving To Us"). You can see this at the very beginning of the show when Mike is working on the car.

What person's daughter played the lead female role in "Some Like It Lukewarm" (a.k.a. "The Band Contest") (episode #56)?
Dean Martin. Deana Martin (who played Daphne in this episode) is Dean Martin's daughter. She was also an extra on a few other "Monkees" episodes. Watch them again and see if you can spot her!

What is the name of the final episode in season two?
"Mijacogeo" (a.k.a. "The Frodis Caper"). This one was co-written and directed by Micky Dolenz. The name comes from a mixture of names within his family (MIchael-his middle name, JAnelle-his mom, COco-his sister, and GEOrge-his dad).
