Fun Trivia: N : Name It - Easy

Special Sub-Topic: My Favorite Movies : 2

Elle Woods gets accepted to Harvard Law School, but only to win her boyfriend, who dumped, her back. On her journey, she finds that maybe there is more than just love, fashion and fun. Being a lawyer sounds good, too.

Legally Blonde. I know that this is a chick flick, but it is actually a very good and funny movie starring Reese Witherspoon and Luke Wilson. Both actors are also in the sequel "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde".

Melanie Carmichael is a New York fashion designer who has to go back home to take care of some business after the mayor of New York's son proposes. Now is her last name Carmichael, Smooter or Perry?
Sweet Home Alabama. This is yet another chick flick with Reese Witherspoon but it is very good too. Josh Lucas plays the part of Jake Perry and does an exemplary job. Patrick Dempsey plays Andrew Hennings, the Mayor's son. I kept finding myself wanting him to be a bad guy, but it never happened. Even though you want Melanie and Jake to get together you still find yourself rooting for Andrew.

He has been in college having fun for seven years. Then he meets a beautiful journalist who teaches him that maybe he's just afraid to graduate and go on to reality. I can't tell you his name because that would give it away.
National Lampoon's Van Wilder. This movie stars Ryan Reynolds as Van Wilder. Most people recognize him as Berg from the TV sitcom "Two Guys and a Girl". Hottie Tara Reid stars as the beautiful journalist, Gwen Pearson.

Earth has lost contact with the the colonists on planet LV426. Ripley, and a team of Marines go back to LV426 to find out what happened. On thier mission they find that all of the colonists, except a little girl, have been captured and used for hosts.
Aliens. This is one of the few movies where I believe the sequel is better than the original; especially the DVD with the extended scenes. Sigourney Weaver reprises her role as Ripley, along with a star studded cast. Some of the co-stars are, Michael Biehn, Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton and Paul Reiser. The little girl mentioned in the question is Newt. James Cameron is the director.

John McClane is a detective who has come back to New York City. There he meets Zeus, while he is being put to the test by Hans Gruber's brother. Meanwhile, all of the city's police officers are searching frantically for a bomb that has supposedly been set in a school.
Die Hard With a Vengeance. Bruce Willis does an exemplary job as John McClane in all 3 "Die Hard" movies. I think that they are all pretty much equal, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be this one because of Samuel L. Jackson, who pretty much stole the show as Zeus Carver. Academy Award winner, Jeremy Irons, plays Simon Gruber. John McTiernan was the director.

Rebecca, a country girl from South Dakota, goes to California to college. There she meets Crawl, a very wild and different person whom she takes back to her home and family for Thanksgiving.
Son In Law. Pauly Shore, as Crawl, really just kind of expands on his own personality in this movie. Carla Gugino plays Rebecca. It's very interesting to see the transformation of Rebecca from country girl to big city girl. It is also very interesting that this movie brought together a star studded cast of some of my favorite character actors. Some the them are: Lane Smith, Cindy Pickett, Mason Adams and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, who most of you may remember as Kelly on the TV show "Saved by the Bell".

Rick and Evie O'Connell go all over the world in search of Imhotep, who has kidnapped their son, Alex, who has mistakenly put on the Bracelet of Anubis.
The Mummy Returns. This is another of the few of the movies where the sequel was as good as, or better, than the original. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weiss reprise their roles as Rick and Evie along with John Hannah (Jonathon), Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep) and Oded Fehr (Ardeth Bay). I believe that a sequel is always better when the original cast returns.

Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh team up with Lee Butters to catch a Chinese crime lord using slavery and counterfeit money to get his brother out of prison.
Lethal Weapon 4. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover come back for their roles in all four of the movies, along with the rest of the cast. I'll say it again, sequels are better when the original actors return. Jet Li makes a powerful US movie debut in the role of Wah Sing Ku, the Chinese Crimelord, and Chris Rock gives a halarious performance as Det. Lee Butters. Richard Donner directed all 4 of the Lethal Weapon movies.

Martin Brody, Matt Hooper and Quint go fishing. That should be enough.
Jaws. One of the all time classics, in my opinion, starring Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw. Directed by Steven Spielberg, "Jaws" was nominated for 4 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. It won everything except the Best Picture award. It was beaten out by "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". I think Robert Shaw should have gotten a nomination for Best Supporting Actor. The machine shark used in the production of the movie was named Bruce. According to the actors, the production went over the time schedule because they could never get the shark, "Bruce", to work.

Lt. Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell and Lt. Nick 'Goose' Bradshaw go to Naval flight school to compete and fly with the Navy's top fighter pilots.
Top Gun. This is probably the movie that pushed Tom Cruise over the top although, in my opinion, Anthony Edwards as "Goose" stole the show. Kelly , Meg Ryan, Michael Ironside and Tom Skerritt also star.
