Special Sub-Topic: "Nip/Tuck" - "Derek, Alex, and Gary"

Who assisted on Matt's reconstructive surgery?

Quentin. After confronting Sean and Julia about their questionable parenting, Christian entered the operating room to find Quentin scrubbed in and ready to assist. When Christian asked about it, Sean said, "this kind of cranial facial work is quite the specialty. Not letting [Quentin] operate on Matt would be... neglectful." Matt asked if they couldn't all participate, but Christian assured him it was a "two-man job and [Sean] knew that." Then Quentin started to step aside to let Christian take his place, but Matt asked if Quentin had been the one to fix Sean's face after his Carver attack. When Quentin confirmed that he had been, it was clear that Matt felt somewhat conflicted, so Christian left the operating room on his own.

Which was NOT one of the items suggested by the 1-800 number as a means to remove the adhesive the frat boys had used?
paint thinner. After the prank took a turn for the worse, someone had called the number on the glue package. Apparently, they were told that the only things that could be used to remove the adhesive were "a chisel, a scraper, or sandpaper." After getting the three boys to sign consent forms, Christian and Quentin injected them with lidocaine to help reduce the pain and cut into the one boy's behind to free the other two. Then, later, they did skin grafts to reconstruct that boy's butt.

How did Detective McGraw know that women had been involved in Matt's attack?
fingernail scratches. McGraw first got Matt to admit that there'd been more than one attacker by pointing out the bruises on his arms and explaining that they indicated he'd been held down while someone else "worked over his face." Then she asked Matt if he'd seen the guys' girlfriends, which Matt dismissed as an absurd question. McGraw told him that men's fingernails leave "shallow uneven cuts," while the ones on Matt's arms were "deep and consistent," suggesting that they'd been inflicted by someone with a manicure. Matt then appealed to Julia, who stopped the interview.

After Detective McGraw proved women had been involved in Matt's attack, who surmised that he'd been attacked by transsexual men?
no one. When Christian entreated her to "take the gloves off" and figure out what had really happened to Matt, McGraw resumed the interview. She pushed Matt to explain what he'd done to his female attackers to trigger the attack, harping on him for the shame he must have felt about being beat up by "a bunch of cheerleaders." Matt finally broke his silence and forcefully confessed, "they weren't cheerleaders; they were men." Matt went on to explain that he'd beat one of them up after he'd made a pass at him outside a transsexual bar. When Julia asked what he'd been doing at the bar, Matt told her, "looking for Ava."

What bracelet at the frat party indicated that the girl was looking for guys with money?
green. When Quentin and Sean arrived at the party, their host told them that it was a bracelet party and where "every girl wears whichever color they're looking for tonight." He went on to explain which sexual acts a few of the bracelets corresponded to. When Sean asked, "Is there a bracelet for girls who like guys twice their age?" the host was set aback for a moment before replying, "Green! Means they like money."

Who put Matt on medication?
Christian. Christian gave him antidepressants for the morning and pills to help with anxiety attacks. Then he asked Matt if he'd wanted to sleep with a man when he sought out a transsexual. Christian then inadvertently admitted that he'd slept with Ava. Matt, of course, was quite upset and attacked Christian on the basis of his having repeatedly slept with friends' girlfriends. Christian took the verbal abuse, telling Matt, "I'd rather you hate me than see you destroy yourself." Christian then again offered the pills, with the entreaty, "Let her go."

Where did Sean and Julia sleep together?
Matt's bed. Sean found her in Matt's room after leaving the frat party. They commiserated over memories of Matt and their formerly naive but happy selves. They were already lying on the bed together when they went in for the kiss, and it quickly escalated from there. Matt came home the next morning to find them asleep naked in his bed.

Did Quentin know Kimber from her porno career?
yes. At dinner, he first tried making conversation with Kit McGraw, but she was more interested in Kimber, so Quentin told Kimber that he was a huge fan and had seen all her work. Kit then offered Quentin the real thing, inviting Quentin to sleep with them that night. Christian initially resisted, not wanting Kit to pimp out Kimber, but Kimber reassured him that with Quentin there to occupy Kit, she and Christian could focus on each other again.

Kimber backed Christian up when he asked Kit McGraw to leave.
true. After the foursome went awry with the revelation of Quentin's bisexuality, Christian ordered Kit out of his bed, telling her that Kimber was his. Kit cuddled up to Kimber and told Christian that Kimber wasn't a possession, but Kimber stood up and told Kit that she agreed with Christian and wanted her to leave. She explained that she'd only ever agreed to let Kit into their relationship to make Christian feel better, and now that he did they didn't need her anymore. Kimber also said that while she liked Kit, she loved Christian. Kit stood up and got dressed, leaving with a parting warning for Kimber that she'd never really feel safe with Christian.

Did Sean hit Matt?
yes. After Matt pushed Julia, Sean pushed him up against a wall, ready to punch him. Matt taunted him, saying, "You wouldn't dare mess up your perfect work." Sean replied, "I already have" and punched Matt squarely in the face.
