In Christian's dream, who identified his body?
Sean. In the dream, Sean came in to see Christian lying on the bed with his throat slashed. He identified the body, then the dream skipped to his funeral, where Julia, Kimber, Liz, and Sean all gave speeches. When the tried to lower the casket into the ground, it got stuck, and that's when Christian would wake up.
What shocking confession did Christian make to Sean on the pier?
the Carver had raped him. Christian was telling Sean about his dream and Sean was urging him to return to work as a way to get through the trauma of his attack. He gave Christian a "Jungian" interpretation of his dream, telling Christian that he wanted to talk to Sean. Christian took off his sunglasses, looked Sean in the face and said simply, "He raped me." Then Christian watched as Sean's expression turned from hopeful openness to shocked dismay before putting his shades back on and walking off alone.
Who was Julia sleeping with?
Jude. She'd gone to him for a no-strings-attached relationship and he was upset because he wanted more and he felt she was still emotionally involved with her husband. It probably didn't help that she exclaimed her Sean's name when orgasming!
With Christian's absent at work, what was Sean doing a surgery to fix?
burst silicone implants. Liz was shocked by how bad it had gotten and wondered how the woman had let it go so long, even noting that the patient had found "silicone leaking out of her milk ducts three years ago." Sean concluded that she must have felt "ignoring the problem was the only way to deal with it." After removing the old broken implant, Sean put in a new one. However, he only got done with one side because it took so long without Christian. When Sean refused to acknowledge the effects of Christian's continuing absence, Liz shot his own words about ignoring a problem back at him.
Did Christian propose to Kimber?
yes. She was frustrated because she missed having Christian the way he was before his attack, and he spontaneously (and dispassionately) proposed. She resisted, pointing out that he hadn't even gotten off the couch to do it. When he knelt before her to ask again, she pointed out that he didn't so much as say he loved her. Then, with remarkable dignity, Kimber told him, "I just can't Christian. I can't be that person that you settle for because you're tired and depressed. I'm not ready to call it a day. I'm not ready to come die with you." With that, she got her coat and left.
After he'd been attacked by the Carver, what did Christian do before calling the police?
took a shower. Detective McGraw questioned his careless decision to wash away evidence but Christian reminded her that he was a doctor and said he'd washed and dressed his own wounds. He also likely washed away evidence of the rape, which he didn't report to the police.
How long had Momma Boone been on the couch?
3 years. She told Sean she'd had a back problem that caused her pain whenever she stood and her doctor told her to sit down so she did and just stayed. He asked how she was surviving and she explained that Denny brought her whatever she needed. When he asked about her bathroom needs, though, she refused to talk about it. This was the first glimpse at Momma's fierce and seemingly-contradictory sense of pride.
How did they get Momma out of her house?
cut through the wall. As they prepared to take her out, Momma pleaded with Sean to not be taken out where she'd be seen by the crowd gathered in front of her house. The police used a tarp to obscure the view as they carried Momma and the couch to the waiting truck.
What did Momma tell Sean she didn't like?
needles. They explained to Momma that they couldn't put her to sleep because of her position but would give her local anesthetics. She agreed, but entreated that they be quick because she didn't like needles. Unfortunately, the job called for dozens of shots.
Did Sean let Denny Boone in to see Momma before surgery?
no. He told Denny he couldn't come in because they had to keep Momma calm for her own safety. Then Sean took out some anger on Denny, telling him that he should be brought up on charges of criminal negligence. Denny shot back that his only crime was "loving Momma too much."
