    July 20, 1971. Sandra Oh was born in Nepean, Ontario. Her father is Joon-Soo Oh, a businessman. Her mother is Young-Nam Oh, a biochemist. She has a brother, Ray and a sister, Grace. Oh is Korean.

What Canadian high school did Oh attend?
    Sir Robert Borden High School. Oh was actively involved in ballet but didn't think she could make it as a professional dancer. She then decided to focus more on acting by taking more drama classes.

What was Oh's character's name on the television show "Grey's Anatomy" (2005)?
    Cristina Yang. "Grey's Anatomy" (2005) followed the lives of medical interns trying to make the best out of both their personal and professional lives. Oh played the determined and eager intern, Cristina Yang. In most episodes you would see Yang trying to convince the surgeons that she had to be a part of each surgery, even if she was off for the day or had worked all of the night. She was very focused.

Oh earned a scholarship to go to Carleton University but turned it down to pursue acting. What was the scholorship for?
    Journalism. Against her parent's wishes she went to National Theatre School in Montreal. They were upset and told her she had to pay her own way. She agreed and told them if the acting thing did not work out within a few years, she would return to college.

    Friends. She appeared in "Cagney and Lacey" (1995) as Officer Angela Lum. She appeared in "Judging Amy" (2001) as Detective Shelly Tran. She appeared in "Popular" (1999) as a Humanities Teacher.

Which fellow "Grey's Anatomy" (2005) actress starred with Oh in "Under the Tuscan Sun" (2003)?
    Kate Walsh. The movie revolved around Frances (Diane Lane). Frances' life got turned upside down when she found out her husband had been cheating on her. Oh Played her best friend, Patti, a pregnant lesbian. Patti's girlfriend was Grace (Kate Walsh). Patti decided that she and Frances needed to go on vacation to Tuscany to get away from the drama. Frances found a house that she loved while on vacation and decided to stay for good. Patti went home but soon returned to Tuscany because her girlfriend had left her.

Oh has starred in several movies. Which movie did she NOT star in?
    Old School. She played Mrs. Phyllis Caldwell in "Big Fat Liar" (2002). She played Vice Principal Gupta in "The Princess Diaries" (2001). She played Lulu in "Cake" 2005).

    Stephanie. "Sideways" followed two friends Miles (Paul Giamatti) and Jack (Thomas Haden Church) on a getaway vacation to wine country. Miles, was an English teacher depressed about his failed life. Jack was an actor who was going to be married soon. The two decided to take a trip mostly because Jack is looking for one last fling before getting married. Oh's character, Stephanie, worked at a restaurant that they stopped along the way. Stephanie and Miles had a fling that lasted for several days. However, Stephanie soon found out that he was engaged.
