    4. There are 4 positions on a polo team: No1, No2, No3, and No4.

What are the time periods called?
    Chukkas. In New Zealand, normally 4 played chukkas are played. A chukka is normally 7 minutes long, with 30 seconds added to finish a play.

What are the players mounts called?
    Polo Ponies. Polo pony is the traditional name for the riders mounts.

What is the term, Penalty 1?
    Automatic goal. There is 6 penalties. #1 being an automatic goal, given for a severe offence.

How long is a chukka?
    7 minutes. A chukka is 7 minutes long, with an addition of 30 seconds to finish the play.

What sort of bridle do most players use?
    Gag.

What is a Surcingle, used for in Polo?
    Back up girth.. If a girth breaks, the surcingle keeps the saddle there so you can go and get a new one.

Are you allowed to go directly in front of the ball?
    n. You can't go in front off the ball, because of the speed of the game, there could be a big accident.

How many umpires are there?
    3. There is only three umpires in a polo game, two of which are mounted. There is the third umpire that sits in the crowd, and decides on hard calls.

What safety equiptment do players need?
    Helmet, Kneepads, boots.. These are the three basic saftey requirements. They protect you from falls, knocks and bangs and crashes.
