How many players are there on a regu (team)?

    3. The centre player is called a Tekong, where he/she serves the ball at all times. The other two players are called Feeder and Striker/Killer. It doesn't matter which player (Feeder or Striker) plays on which side of the Tekong. A Feeder is the player who sets the ball for the Striker, who usually does a spike. bicycle, or acrobatic kick to send the ball to the oppponents' court.

What material is the Sepak Takraw ball made of?
    Rattan. Nowadays, some balls are covered with synthetic rubber to soften the impact of the ball on a player's body part. However, any ball that is used for any official tournament must seek approval from the Sepak Takraw Federation first.

The word "takraw"" means ball. Where does it originally come from?
    Thai. Sepak Takraw was founded in Thailand and Malaysia. "Sepak" means kick in Malay. In Laos, it is called "ka-taw", while in Filipino they call it "sipa".

How many bounces is allowed before the player kicks the ball?
    0. The ball cannot bounce in the player court before they kick it. This game is unlike tennis. This means that the ball sent by the opponent must be taken cleanly by the player without the ball bouncing first. If the ball has already been in contact with the court, a point is awarded to the opponent.

Which of the following is not considered a fault when a serving side is serving the ball?
    The ball touches the net before crossing over the opponents court. If a player is physically in contact with the net, it is always a fault, no matter when it happen. The tekong has to put his non-kicking leg within the circle, but not on it. On the other hand, his kicking leg must be outside the circle. Like badminton and volleyball, if the ball falls outside the court, it is considered an out.

What is the dimension of the Sepak Takraw court?
    13.4 m x 6.1 m. They area must be free from all obstacles/objects. The net should be more or less 1.52 metres high. In a women's game, the net is slightly lower by approximately 0.1-0.5m.

How many linesmen are there in a Sepak Takraw game?
    4. There are 4 linesmen and 1 umpire in total. The linesmen are located at each corner of the court.

What is the winning point for a set in an official tournament?
    21. If the scoreline for a current set is tied at 20-20, the team who scores two more points than the other (e.g. 23-21, 24-22) wins the set. The maximum point is extended to 25, which means, if it is tied at 24-24, the last point will determine the winner of the set. 2 sets are usually played for each regu (team), so if the set score is tied at 1-1, there will be a third set (usually called tie-breaker set). In this set, the winning point is 15.

Which of the following is not allowed to be in contact with the ball during the game?
    Hand. This rule is similar to soccer rules. The player can use any part of his body except for his hands and arms.

What is the age limit in Sepak Takraw?
    There is no age limit. There is simply no age limit. However, if you want to participate in a tournament, you have to be eligible under the age criteria set of the tournament. You can't be possibly play in an Under-12 tournament if you are 30 years old.
