    Paul Owens. Corrales had been fired by then GM, Paul Owens in July in spite of the fact that the Phils were in first at the time.

What teams did the Orioles and Phillies face in their respective LCSs?
    Chicago / Los Angeles. The Birds allowed the ChiSox just 3 runs in four games while Steve Carlton handled the Dodgers, winning both of his starts.

The Phillies won Game 1, 2 - 1, but the Orioles swept the next four?
    true. Joe Morgan and Gary Maddox hit solo homers off of Oriole starter, Scott McGregor. Jim Dwyer got the Birds only run with a solo shot of his own in the first inning. Then the O's were off and running.

    Pete Rose. Pete shared first base with Tony Perez and right field with Joe Lefebvre and Von Hayes. Pete hit .312 in the series and .375 in the LCS.

The Orioles clinched the World Series at Memorial Stadium, in front of the home town fans?
    false. As if it wasn't bad enough getting beat four games in a row, the Phillies had to watch the Birds celebrate on their diamond.

Who was MVP of the '83 World Series?
    Rick Dempsey. Boddicker pitched a gem in Game 2, Murray had two home runs in Game 5, and Shelby was 4 for 9 in part time duty. But it was Dempseys .385 average and five extra base hits that got him the award.
