My ears are set high and rather close together. They are triangular and erect. What am I?

    Siberian Husky. The Siberian Husky is one of the oldest dog breeds. It was developed in Eastern Siberia by the Chukchi people.

My ears are set low and well back, hanging close to the head. They are long and silky with feathering at the tip.
    Irish Setter. The ears of the Brittany are set higher than those of the Irish Setter; the ears of the English Springer Spaniel are set in line with the eyes; Labrador ears have no silky fringe.

    Weimaraner. Beagle, Afghan, and Basset ears are low set.The Weimaraner is called the gray ghost of Germany.

    Bloodhound. The ears of the English Cocker are set at eye level; those of the Corgi are upright, and those of the Borzoi are not very long. The blodhound's sense of smell is legendary.

    German Shepherd Dog. In England, this breed is called the Alsatian (it was a World War I thing). The German shepherd is valued for guard work, police work, guide work, and herding.

My ears are not heavily feathered. They lie close to the head at the front, but may stand away at the back. What am I?
    St. Bernard. The St. Bernard does rescue people, but he doesn't really carry a brandy keg. Too bad.

My ears are small, V-shaped and folded forwards. What am I?
    Airedale Terrier. The Airedale is the "king of terriers," was used as guard and messenger dog during the First World War.

My ears are small, fine, and rose-shaped. What am I?
    Whippet. The whippet is descended from the Greyhound, and is even faster at some distances.

My ears are large and set well back. They are held erect and have a rounded tip.
    Cardigan Welsh Corgi. The other kind of Corgi, the Pembroke, has ears with slightly pointed tips. The Cardigan is believed to be the older of the two breeds.

    Bull Terrier. Princess Anne has bull terriers. One of them knocked off the Queen's Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which proves beyond all doubt that life in the Palace is rougher than it looks.
