Mang the Bat. Mang did such a good job of reporting the conflagration at the ruined city that monkeys from far and wide ran to help their kin at the ruins.

Why did Kaa wish to go hunting with Baloo and Bagheera?

He had not eaten in a month. Kaa had spent a month shedding his skin so therefore he could not hunt for food. When Baloo and Bagheera went to him to seek his help Kaa was interested in the hunt immediately. Kaa had only heard rumours about Mowgli and when he met him Kaa warned Mowgli to be careful the he, Kaa, did not mistake for a monkey.
