One of the rarest of Rugby Union Books is 'The New Zealand Tour 1901' by J R Henderson. What team tour to NZ does it deal with?

    The New South Wales Team. This is the book that almost every Rugby Union collector would like to own. I know of only 2 copies still in existence!

The prolific British Rugby writer J B G Thomas wrote 30 books on the sport. Which was the first ?
    On Tour. First published in 1954 - and his last was in 1985 ("Rugger in the Blood"). Quite a career !

Three authors wrote books on the 1906 Springbok Tour to the UK. All are very rare. The rarest is 'With the Springboks in England 1906-07'. Who wrote it ?
    C V Becker. Another of the very rarest of Rugby books.

The Captain and Vice-Captain (Dave Gallaher & Billy Stead) of the 1905 All Black team that toured the UK (the Originals) wrote a book - what is it called ?
    The Complete Rugby Footballer. Said to be a sufficiently good coaching book as to be still of use to modern players - and of course, very collectable !

In 1976 a history of a French Rugby club was published under the title 'Une Certaine Idee du Rugby'. Which club does it deal with ?
    Lourdes. It also includes biographies of 30 Internationals.

David Parry-Jones wrote a book called 'Taff's Acre'. What was the subject ?
    Cardiff Arms Park. Great memories if you have Welsh blood!

Many collectors have as their main aim to collect club histories. Which was the first New Zealand club to have a published history ?
    The Southern RFC. Published as early as 1905 and entitled 'From Inauguration to Premiers' by A R Lawry.

The Reverend F Marshall wrote 'Football - The Rugby Union Game';- a monumental history of the game in Britain in the 19th Century. What year did it first appear?
    1892. A second edition appeared in 1894. Another sought-after collectible.

One of the best Rugby Union books of all time was a publication of the diaries and momentoes of a 1906 Springbok. Who was he ?
    Paddy Carolin. 'The Carolin Papers' published in 1990 - would make any true enthusiast's mouth water.

Wisden's "Cricket Almanack" is well known - but there was also a Wisden's "Rugby Football Almanack". Not so successful - how many issues were there altogether ?
    3. The years were 1922, 1924 and 1925.
