What is the Puma's real name?

    Thomas Fireheart. Thomas Fireheart is a Native American whose tribe tells of a great evil coming upon Earth. To prepare, selective breeding has taken place over many years to produce the perfect warrior, who turned out to be Thomas Fireheart.

Puma is of Native American descent. Where is his tribe located?
    Arizona. Thomas Fireheart's as-yet-unnamed tribe is from Hartsdale, Arizona. Arizona's capital is Phoenix, and its state bird is the cactus wren.

Fireheart can transform into a powerful werecat, but he also trained in martial arts while in Japan.
    T. Learning under a man known as Muramoto, Thomas Fireheart added a mastery of martial arts to his already impressive fighting skills. This makes him an even more formidable adversary!

Why did Fireheart become a mercenary?
    He was bored. Fireheart is also a powerful CEO, but he became bored with the business world and decided to hire himself out as a mercenary. It was during this time that he came into contact with Spider-Man.

Puma originally appeared in 1983.
    F. Puma appeared in the two-hundred and fifty-sixth issue of "The Amazing Spider-Man". This issue went on sale in September of 1984.

Who hired Puma to kill Spider-Man?
    The Rose. The Rose is actually Richard Fisk, son of the Kingpin. He first appeared in 1970. While attending college in Switzerland, he learned that his father was actually a criminal, and became distraught.

Puma knows Spider-Man's identity.
    T. Thanks to his enhanced senses, Puma was able to deduce that Spider-Man and Peter Parker are one and the same. Puma's sense of honor kept him from divulging this secret, and the knowledge has since been removed from his mind.

Puma was once Spider-Man's boss.
    T. This is actually true. Puma once bought the majority of Daily Bugle stock, making him the largest shareholder in the company. He began to promote Spider-Man as a hero, undoing J. Jonah Jameson's attempts to paint the webslinger as a dangerous threat. He later sold it all back to Jameson for one dollar.

Puma felt that he owed Spider-Man a debt of honor. Where did they journey to?
    New Mexico. Puma and Spider-Man went on a vision quest to New Mexico. I bet they got really hot in their costumes!

Puma won the Bloodsport competition.
    F. Puma reached the semi-finals, but was then defeated by Wolverine. These events took place in the second volume of "Wolverine".
