James. You can see the name James on the present Santa gives to him at the party. The other names are from Peter Pan.

What does the boy throw at the window before building The Snowman?

A snowball.. James' Mum is not pleased and shouts at him through the window. James says "sorry" and walks away sadly. The Snowman is given a tangerine for a nose and coal buttons.

What is put on The Snowman's head?

A green hat.. James goes in the house and asks his Mum for Dad's old hat and scarf. Some of the other snowmen in the film have special hats from their own countries, did you spot a snowman in a Chinese hat?

At what time does The Snowman come alive?

Midnight. You can hear the clock in the hall strike 12 and it's dark so it must be midnight. My son wants to make a snowman this year so he can go on midnight adventures like James, would you like that too?

What does The Snowman take off the Christmas cake and admire in the kitchen?

A snowman.. The snowman on the cake looks just like The Snowman with the same hat and scarf. The other two objects on the cake were a tree and a yellow bird.

What does The Snowman uncover in the garden that they go for a ride on?

A motorcycle.. They go riding through the woods passing a horse, fox and rabbits on the way. Riding through the trees is a bit scary, it always looks as though they might crash.

What was drawn on the box that The Snowman takes out from under his back in the freezer?

Fish. It was seeing the fish and all the snow on the box that made The Snowman miss his home and fly off with James to the party.

Who did the boy meet at the party?

Father Christmas (Santa). Santa takes James to see his reindeer. James also goes to the party and meets Santa again in Raymond Briggs' Father Christmas.

What present was given to the boy at the party?

A scarf.. James was given a lovely thick scarf with snowmen all over it. At the end of the film when The Snowman has melted, James thought he had been dreaming about his adventures, then he finds the scarf in the pocket of his dressing gown (robe).

What has happened to The Snowman at the end of the film?

He's melted.. James looks really sad and kneels on the ground with his scarf from Santa at the end. Don't worry though! James builds his snowman again and takes him to the party in Raymond Briggs' "Father Christmas".
