Fun Trivia: ' : 'Las Vegas'- Season 1

Special Sub-Topic: "Things That Go Jump In The Night"

As Danny has been on crutches since getting shot in the foot, the beginning of this episode shows the ceremony Ed holds to congratulate Danny on the fact that he doesn't need crutches anymore. Ed had called Danny's doctor and been told that Danny is now completely healed. When Danny then tries to get out of doing a sticky job because of his injury, Ed snaps Danny's crutch in half. Of course Danny doesn't retaliate to his face...but instead steals what from Ed to use as a counterweight instead?

His 6-iron. The golf club makes as a perfect counterweight and Danny uses it happily. It's only later on when Ed gets back from his golf game that he realizes his club was missing! He wasn't too happy.

This episode introduces us to a re-curring character who goes from having nothing to having everything! He begins the episode attempting to kill himself, and after being saved by Danny, he goes on to win lots of money. Played by Jon Lovitz, what is this lovable loser's name?
Fred Puterbaugh. Fred comes to Vegas on the worst run of luck. He loses his job and his girlfriend in one foul swoop, then gets evicted! He decides to end his life at the 'fabulous' Montecito... and leaves a note stating as such in his room.

We are also introduced to a new security guard who works for the Montecito. He is a big oaf with a good heart, but isn't too bright. His first post gets him in trouble when he annoys Paul Anka by continuously offering him cinnamon gum and giving him updates for Paul Anka memorabilia off e-bay. His second post at Mystique lands him in trouble with Gunther and he is given one last chance to prove his worth, but gets in trouble again. What was this oaf's name?
Kenny. Played by Harland Williams who was in Sorority Boys, Kenny keeps landing himself in trouble even though he has good intentions. His second posting at Mystique is ruined by him telling customers that the place is expensive and the pork tenderloin is a little dry.

Another guest of the Montecito's this episode is one of Sam's whales. His name is Connor and he's young, attractive and very rich. Sam falls for Connor and sleeps with him after dinner one night. I doubt Vanessa Marcil, who plays Sam, had any trouble with these sex scenes as Connor is played by her real-life fiance! Her fiance was one of her old "Beverly Hills 90210" colleagues. Who played Connor?
Brian Austin Green. I'm sure the writers got excited when they managed to convince Brian Green to come on. The whole storyline between Sam and Connor becomes much funnier if you know they were engaged in real life! It must be said that Green is a very lucky man. He and Marcil have one child, Kassius Lijah Marcil-Green, and have been engaged for 4 years in 2006.

Jon Lovitz's character is suicidal. How does he try and kill himself before Danny stops him?
Jumping off the roof. As the title of the episode hints, he jumps. Danny notices one of the fire escapes has been opened, one with roof access. He quickly runs to the roof and tries to talk Fred out of jumping. Unfortunately he is unsuccessful in doing so, but manages to still catch on to his arm as he jumps. Crisis averted.

The morning after Samantha and Connor sleep together, Connor drops a bombshell on Sam by introducing her to his fiancé. Connor and his fiancé, Madison, are getting married on Friday and Connor hadn't even mentioned it to Sam. Who plays Madison?
Paris Hilton. One of Paris Hilton's first TV acting roles was here as Madison. The blooper reel shows her messing up one line but she seemed to do a good job. She doesn't dominate the scene as she does in real life.

After meeting Madison, Connor asks Sam to have dinner with them. During this uncomfortable dinner scene, Madison asks Sam whether she'd share any of her bedroom tricks. Sam then shares one, with Connor in mind. What does it involve?
Sticking his head in a vice. Connor: "Sweetie, I bet Sam known a whole bunch of fun little bedroom tricks..." Madison: "Mmm...maybe she'll share a few..." Connor (listening intently): "Share a few with us, Sam, please..." Sam (with an evil grin): "I do know one actually... it's called the squeeze play. What you do is you put his head in this special little vice, I can lend you mine, and you squeeze really hard until his eyes pop out of his head."

Paul Anka holds a show at the Montecito this episode. Unfortunately whilst he is singing 'My Way', two people interrupt the show by kneeling in the aisle. Anka then comes over whilst singing and works them into his song! Who are the two people?
Danny and Dr. Marks. In quite an amusing scene, Danny and Dr.Marks the psychiatrist, interrupt to talk to Fred who's enjoying the show. Whilst down on their knees in the aisle, Paul Anka comes along and works their situation into his song.

By the end of the episode, about how much money had Jon Lovitz' character won?
$6 million. Fred starts by being given $200 by Ed to go gamble with. He wins $8 on his very first video poker spin and just continues to roll on from there. He wins $125 on video poker, then moves onto the blackjack table where he amasses $2 million dollars. He then gets shifted to craps where he wins another $4 million. Total - $6 million. Please do not try this at home.

Does the new security guard oaf get fired?
    y. Kenny makes one too many mistakes. He steals a $100 chip from a drunk patron that he was helping and planned on giving it to a couple who didn't have much money. Unfortunately for Kenny, he comes clean and Ed has no choice but to fire him. The scene with him getting fired takes place in the meeting room at the end of the episode.
