    Greenyards. The Greenyards, as well as being Melrose RFC's home ground, is also host to the oldest Rugby Sevens tournament in the world. The first Melrose Sevens took place in 1883.

    Selkirk. Philiphaugh is the home of Selkirk's rugby club. Although the club had not yet been set up, Selkirk sent a team to the inaugural Melrose Sevens in 1883.

They decided upon Rugby Football rather than Association Football because Rugby is a manlier game more suited to the Borders temperament. (They said it not me!) The stand at Mansfield Park is the biggest in the Borders with room for 1400 spectators.

    Kelso. Poynder Park is situated close to Kelso High School and sometimes hosts school and community sports events too.

    Riverside Park. Jed-forest RFC is the only Border rugby club to not base its name on the name of its home town. Jedburgh being the town, is Jethart to locals.

    Hardens Field. Hardens Field is well named, being just a ground or field without stands or floodlights. Duns Rugby Club players are known as the "Dingers" from the town motto "Duns Dings A" (Duns beats all)

    Milntown. Langholm, in Dumfries and Galloway is known as the "Muckle Toon" (the big town). Langholm RFC was founded in 1871, which makes it the oldest Border rugby club.

Which team plays at The Gytes?
    Peebles. Peebles Rugby Football Club was formed in 1923. They used to play at Hay Lodge park and moved to the Gytes in 1995.

Which Border team plays its home games in England?
    Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Berwick-Upon-Tweed, the furthest North town in England, has been keenly fought over by England and Scotland, changing hands frequently until 1482. Since then it has been administered by England. It is now regarded as an English town, but both its football (soccer) and Rugby teams play in Scottish Leagues
