Virtually everyone knows that George Washington, "the father of our country", was the first president to serve under the Constitution. Who was the second president?

Most presidential trivia buffs could tell you that William Henry Harrison was the first president to die in office. Who was the second?
Zachary Taylor. Zachary Taylor, a Whig born in Virginia but raised in Kentucky, died while in office on July 9, 1850. A true presidential trivia maven would know that Martin Van Buren was the first president born as a US citizen (not born as a British subject). Who was the second to serve as president?
John Tyler. John Tyler, a Whig from Virginia, was born on March 29, 1790. As vice president, he became president upon the death of William Henry Harrison in 1841. He was the Tyler of the campaign slogan "Tippecanoe and Tyler too".

Ulysses S Grant. Ulysses S Grant, probably the most famous Union General of the Civil War, served two terms from 1869 to 1877. Unfortunately his administration was plagued by scandals.

As a master of presidential facts, you know that Ulysses S Grant was the first graduate of West Point to serve as president. However it would be impressive if you know who was the second president to graduate from West Point. Who was it?
Dwight Eisenhower. Dwight Eisenhower, a Republican born in Texas, served two terms as President from 1953 to 1961. He graduated from West Point in 1915. Eisenhower was the chief allied commander in the European Theater during World War Two and was was president of Columbia University prior to becoming president.

William Henry Harrison was the first president elected from the Whig party. Real presidential trivia experts should know who was the second president elected from the Whig party. Who might it be?
Zachary Taylor. Zachary Taylor, who served as president from 1849 to his death in 1850, never voted in a presidential election until his own in 1848. While Zachary Taylor was the second president elected from the Whig party, John Tyler was the second member of the Whig party to serve as president. Tyler, however, was not elected president. He assumed the presidency upon the death of William Henry Harrison in 1841.

Theodore Roosevelt was the first president awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. But do you know who was the second?
Woodrow Wilson. Woodrow Wilson, a Democrat, served as president from 1913 to 1921. He received the 1919 Nobel Peace Prize as a result of his efforts to establish the League of Nations. To date, Wilson is the only president to have a doctorate (Ph.D.) degree.

Any presidential trivia expert "worth their stuff" would know that John Tyler was the first President to marry while serving as president. However, do you know the second president to do so?
Grover Cleveland. Grover Cleveland, a Democrat born in New Jersey, was our 22nd and 24th president as he served two nonconsecutive terms. He married Frances Folsom, 28 years his junior, in 1886. Prior to becoming president, Cleveland was also mayor of Buffalo, New York and the governor of New York.

Last but not least, presidential buffs probably know that Thomas Jefferson was the first president not to deliver the State of the Union Address to Congress in person (he sent a written message). So masters of minutia, who was the second president not to deliver the State of the Union Address in person?
James Madison. James Madison, a Virginian, was our fourth president serving two terms from 1809 to 1817. He continued the tradition set by Jefferson which lasted until 1913 when Woodrow Wilson addressed Congress in person. I hope you enjoyed this presidential quiz.
