As most of us have guessed over the years, the Pokémon Professors that want you to complete the Pokédex are named after trees. What are Professors in Unova called?

Juniper. There are actually two Professor Junipers in Unova; Aurea Juniper and her father, Cedric Juniper. You first meet Aurea when she gives you Cheren and Bianca the Pokédex, and you will meet Cedric when you have left Chargestone Cave.

As modern as it may be, Unova still has legends. Which of these is not a Legendary Pokémon of Unova?

Arceus. Arceus was first introduced as the God of all Pokémon in the Sinnoh region games. Reshiram and Zekrom were believed to be one Pokémon that was trained by brothers, but the two wanted different things out of life so the Pokémon split into Reshiram and Zekrom.

A backstreet in Castelia City holds the entrance to a Café. If you bring a certain Pokémon here, the guitarist in the café will play a tune with it. Which Pokémon is this?

Meloetta. If an Event Meloetta is taken to the Café, the guitarist will play a song that sounds quite similar to Greensleeves. Meloetta will dance to this and then the move Relic Song will be avilable to learn.

The Gyms in this region have also become quite modern. Which city/town has a gym that is a rollercoaster?

Nimbasa City. This gym is the home to Electric type Pokémon and the leader is Model, Elesa. She has three Pokémon: two Emolga and a Zebstrika.

Like all Pokémon games, a group of 'villains' are wreaking havoc and wanting to take over using Pokémon in some way. What is the name of the team in this region?

Plasma. Team Plasma have a fictional goal to liberate Pokémon, but leader Ghetsis reveals that this is not entirely true after N has been defeated. They appear many times throughout the story.

In most 'Pokémon' games (with the exception of 'Yellow') the starters are usually a Fire, Water or Grass type. Are the types of Pokémon offered in this generation the same?

Yes. As usual, the starter can be either a fire, grass or water type. They all evolve at 17, then at 36. Professor Juniper gives you, Cheren and Bianca a starter Pokémon. If you chose Snivy, Bianca will choose Oshawott and Cheren will choose Tepig, repeating the usual rock/paper/scissors effect shown when the player and the rival(s) choose their starter.

Which of these is not a member of the Kami trio?

Tsunadus. Landorus, Tornadus and Thundurus are all part of the Kami trio. Tornadus and Thundurus are found in 'Black' and 'White' respectively, whilst Landorus is found in both games, but both Pokémon are needed for Landorus to appear at the Abundant Shrine.

Only two Pokémon appear in the Celestial Tower; Litwick is one of them, which is the other?

Elgyem. The Celestial tower is situated north of Mistralton city. It is home to the Pokémon that have departed the living as well as Litwick and Elgyem, two quite different Pokémon.

Which of these Pokémon is NOT used by Gym Leader Drayden?

Deino. Deino is a Dark/Dragon type Pokémon that was introduced in the Unova region. It evolves into Zweilous at level 50 and Hydreigon at level 64. Deino is seen in the Opelucid Gym by trainers but not by the Gym Leaders, Drayden and Iris.

Which champion from a previous region takes a visit to Unova?

Cynthia. Cynthia made her debut in 'Diamond/Pearl/Platinum' when she encounters the player numerous times throughout the main game. She is quite a mysterious character who ends up revealing herself as the Sinnoh Champion. She has a fierce team in Generation IV, and it only gets stronger in Unova. Cynthia can be found in Undella Town in a house to the left of the Pokémon Center.
