The tag line referred to John Travolta literally taking the face of Nicolas Cage in order to find out the location of a bomb hidden by Nicolas Cage's character and his brother.

The Replacement Killers. Mira Sorvino guest starred in the 1998 John Woo thriller called "The Replacement Killers" with Chow Yun Fat. John Lee (Chow Yun Fat) was a hit man hired to kill the son of a police officer, who was responsible for the death Chow Yun Fat's employer's son. When John Lee couldn't kill the boy, he learned very quickly that he must either perform the task at hand or be replaced by other hit men. The orders for the new hit men would be to perform John Lee's hit and kill John Lee.

Unfortunately, Melvin learned that his victim was the daughter of his employer and that her father couldn't pay the ransom because he was bankrupt.
