Special Sub-Topic: Which Song or Artist Doesn't Belong?

Of course each of these #1 songs was released as a single--name the one that is different.

Mickey. The clue was "single-name." Each of the other songs was recorded by an artist who goes/went by a single name. Charlene sang "I've Never Been to Me; Falco, Rock Me Amadeus; and M, Pop Muzik. Mickey was recorded by the two-named Toni Basil.

No dead giveaways in this quiz, which song doesn't belong?
Let's Get It On. The clue was "dead." The artists who recorded the other three songs died before they hit #1. Otis Redding died in a plane crash before "Dock." Janis Joplin of a drug overdose before " Bobby McGee." And John Lennon was murdered before "Starting Over" peaked. Marvin Gaye lived over ten years after his song hit #1.

Here's one you'll go GA-GA over, which artist or group doesn't belong?
The Mamas and the Papas. All the other artists recorded a song with the state of Georgia (GA) in the title. Ray Charles sang "Georgia On My Mind." Gladys and her Pips did "Midnight Train To Georgia." Lawrence's only hit was "The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia." The Mamas and the Paps had the wrong state with "California Dreamin'."

I DO think you should be able to get this next one. Which of these 'eighties groups doesn't belong.
Heart. "I DO" refers to the fact that each of the other groups had married couples in them. John Smith and Valerie Day led Nu Shooz. Gloria and Emilio Estefan led Miami Sound Machine until she went solo. Quarterflash was led by Marv and Rindy Ross (former schoolteachers). Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson still lead Heart.

Don't leave this quiz and go start your own, which group or duo doesn't belong?
Information Society. The other three acts were formed by someone who had previously charted with another group. Mike Rutherford of Genesis started Mike + The Mechanics, Vince Clarke from Yaz ("Situation") formed Erasure, and Siobhan Fahey of Bananarama formed Shakespeare's Sister ("Stay"). None of Information Society's members had any previous group success.

These movies all had #1 songs in them. You'll get a star even if you don't pick the wrong one. Act like you know which one doesn't belong.
Footloose. The clue words are "star" and "act." The other three films all produced hits for the STAR who ACTed in the movie! Kevin Bacon was the star of Footloose, but he was not on the soundtrack.

There are a number of reasons this question should be easy. Which of these oddly named acts doesn't belong?
Wild Cherry. The other three all had a hit song with a "number" in it. ? and the Mysterians had a hit with "96 Tears," Nena with "99 Luft Balloons," and Color Me Badd with "All 4 Love." Wild Cherry's big song was "Play That Funky Music."

One of these country crossover hits doesn't belong. If you don't guess correctly, just take it on the chin.
Any Day Now. The clue was "chin." "Any Day Now" was recorded by clean-shaven Ronnie Milsap. The other three songs were recorded by bearded men. Willie Nelson sang "Always on My Mind," Kenny Rogers, "Lady." Eddie Rabbit, "I Love a Rainy Night."

Don't switch channels until this quiz is over. Which song title does not belong?
With a Little Luck. "Swtich channels" is a reference to television. The other three songs were popularized on television shows. Shelly Fabares was forced to sing "Johnny Angel" on the Donna Reed show by the producer. He was right, it went to #1! "Moment" had been recorded earlier, but it took heavy promotion on "Family Ties" to make it a hit. "How Do You Talk to an Angel" was from Fox's short lived series "The Heights," which would now be forgotten were it not for its One-Hit Wonder status. "With A Little Luck" was a #1 song by Wings.

Now that we've come to the last question, let's leave no hair unturned by checking our answers. Which song doesn't belong?
Don't Wanna Fall in Love. The clue was, of course, "no hair." The other three songs were sung by bald artists Sinead O'Connor, Seal, and Right Said Fred. "Don't Wanna Fall In Love" was recorded by synthesizer-happy Jane Child, who had a punk look with enough hair for all of them! It was also kept out of the #1 spot by O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U."
