What was the third champion?

A robot. This really got Ben thinking about who was actually sending the Champions.

What did the River Master give Ben as protection?

An Ardsheal. A creature of pure magic. It was unstoppable and saved Ben from the robot. Willow was afraid of them because one killed her sister.

Where did Abernathy and Questor Thews appear on Earth?

Bumbershoot. At a Festival of Arts. They met Elizabeth Marshall again, who helped them to eventually return to Landover.

Who killed the Wurm?

Strabo. Nightshade made an error by letting the Wurm loose in Strabo's land. The Wurm was originally a regular worm made carnivorous by magic. Added to water, it became huge.

Who prevented Nightshade from killing Abernathy and Questor?

Haltwhistle. Haltwhistle is a Mud Puppy set to watch over Mistaya by the Earth Mother. The Mud Puppy's magic also save Poggwydd the G'home Gnome. Filip and Sot are also Gnomes, but did not appear in this book.

What is Poggwydd?

A G'home Gnome. There didn't really seem much point in introducing him in this book; I feel that Filip and Sot would have been adequate.

What was the first piece of magic Nightshade had Mistaya perform?

Made a bud bloom. Nightshade hoped to subvert Mistaya. She was also planning on having Mistaya kill her father.

Who did Rydall turn out to be?

Lord Kallendor. Completely fooled me. I thought it was going to be a Demon. After Ben dealt so leniently with him in the earlier book.

Where did Nightshade end up?

Seattle. She was transformed into a red-eyed Crow, ultimatley ending up in the bird display at the Woodland Park Zoo.
