Your best friend drags you along to the opera. You fall asleep during the "sinfonia" also known as...
    the overture. Yep, you never made it past the first few minutes. A "sinfonia" is a musical work that is an introduction to choral numbers.

It's taken years of hard work, but after hours of blood, sweat and tears, you have just performed a perfect "salchow". What are you doing?
    Figure skating. You're on your way to a Winter Olympics Gold Medal. Named after the skater who created the jump, Ulrich Salchow.

It's a gorgeous, sunny day and you decide to spend it tanning in your backyard. To your surprise, you find an "abelia" in your backyard. Who do you call?
    A botanist. No need to panic, unless you're allergic to bees. An "abelia" is any shrub from Mexica or Asia that has leaves as well as white, pink or red flowers.

You're feeling a bit under the weather, and after a check-up by your doctor he prescribes you a healthy dose of "dimercaprol". What's the diagnosis?
    Metal poisoning. Lay off the paint chips. "Dimercaprol" is a chemical compound used to counteract lewisite. It's more common use is to cure mercury, arsenic, and gold poisoning.

Your significant other tells you that they wish you had a more "glabrous" hairstyle. Whose picture do you take into to show the hairstylist?
    Yul Brenner. Set the clippers on 0 and break out the bic, you're going bald. "Glabrous" is a flat surface that has no hairs or protrusions.

All your friends are wearing "wampums". They are all the rage and you need to be wearing what all the other cool kids are wearing. Where are you going to go shopping?
    An Indian Reservation. Just don't trade yourself to the chief for them. A "wampum" is beads of shiny shells strung together. "Wampums" are used by some North American Indians tribes as clothings, money, or decorations. They are also used as ceremonial rites of passage.

You come home after school to find your mother and your brother in the living room. Your mother asks you to go get the "tawse". What has your brother done?
    Shaved the cat.. Better him than you, cause your brother is about to get thirty lashes. A "tawse" is a leather strap with strips at the end, like a tassle. It is commonly used for punishing children.

Imagine for a moment that you're pregnant (that includes the men). You wake up at 3am craving a bit of "gerenuk". Where will your poor husband have to go to get it for you?
    Eastern Africa. Hope he has a passport! The "gerenuk" you're craving is a thin antelope with large eyes. Works well with Hamburger helper.

You're going to travel by "quadriga". What will you be traveling on/in?
    Land. You'll be safely on land, in your brand new "quadriga" or a chariot. Oh and it will be pulled by four horses. Yeah Sparticus!
