Scrabble Anagrams- Up The Ladder

1. In Scrabble, there are about 950 three-letter words, of which about 500 would be in everyday use. Most of the answers in my quiz will be common words, too. Start with these threes- 'Feline part of a play'. Answer: (Two Words- No hint for this one!)

2. Despite FunTrivia being a quiz site, the highest scoring 4-letter word is NOT 'quiz' (for 22 points). It is, in fact, the little-known 'jazy', a worsted wig, which scores 23 points. 3. Five letters this time, and an amusing mental picture- 'A fish teacher'. Answer: (Starting letters T T)

4. The six-letter question is also a silly image, but usually the sillier the image, the easier the words are to remember. 'Rudolph's headwear for hire'. Answer: (Starting letters A R)

5. These two words use one of the best-known 6-letter stems to create two 7-letter bingos. 'Most circumspect servers'. Answer: (Starting letters W W)

6. The average adult vocabulary is somewhere between 10,000 and 25,000, depending on education and a myriad of other factors. There are over 270,000 valid words in the Scrabble list.
