For words that end in -x, you can't just put an 's' on the end to get the plural. You need to add -es to the end. What would the plural of box be?
If you have a word ending in -y, and the letter before that is a vowel, you simply add an 's' to the end. So, what would the plural of monkey be?
There are a few animals which don't have any changes or additions at all when finding their plural, like deer and fish. Is sheep the plural of sheep?
If a word ends in -um, then sometimes it can be made into a plural by simply replacing the -um with -a. What would the plural of medium be?
If a word ends with 'y', and there is a consonant before the 'y', then the 'y' is changed to an 'i' and -es is added on for the plural. So now that you know, which of these is not correct?

Let's look at the word fungus. If we want to make it a plural, we change the -us to -i, giving us fungi. Now, what would the plural of cactus be, if we followed this rule?
Some words that end in -f or -fe can change to end in -ves when we look for the plural. Take knife, for instance. It ends in -fe, so we take that off and replace it with -ves, to get knives. What would the plural of leaf be?
