Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The biggest acquisition was Jeff Garcia coming over from Philadelphia. He has had success in most places he played. However, near the end of the season, he had a back injury. Who filled in for him?

Answer: Luke McCown

Luke McCown did an admirable job but lost the last two "meaningless" games of the season, even though he cemented a big win in New Orleans to take control of the NFC South.
2. Which AFC Division did the Bucs play during the season?

Answer: AFC South

During the NFL season, the AFC and NFC divisions play on a rotating schedule. They did beat the Titans 13-10 but lost to the Texans 28-14, Colts 33-14, and Jaguars 24-23.
3. The Bucs never had a lead against the Giants in the first round wild card game?

Answer: False

The Bucs roared down the field for a 7-0 lead before the Giants ran off 24 straight points. They turned the ball over too many times and had trouble stopping Eli Manning on 3rd down conversions. The Giants advanced 24-14.
4. What was the Bucs record against their own division?

Answer: 5-1

They were 5-0 and lost the last game of the season to the Carolina Panthers 31-23, although they rested many of their players. They came a long way after going 0-6 in 2006.
5. How many Pro Bowlers did the Bucs send to Hawaii after the Pro Bowl roster was initially announced?

Answer: 0

Even though they were a playoff team, the Bucs did not have a pro bowler for the first time in many years. Derrick Brooks had gone to the Pro Bowl 10 years in a row. Jeff Garcia did go as an alternate after others backed out.
6. What college did third string running back Ernest Graham go to?

Answer: Florida

Cadillac Williams went down with a torn ACL in the fourth game of the season, and then Michael Bennett was hurt the following week. Graham did a great job filling in. He did not even play much running back for the Gators.
7. Who did the Bucs obtain from the Kansas City Chiefs in an attempt to bolster their running game?

Answer: Michael Bennett

He was outplayed by Ernest Graham and did not end up seeing much action. He only ended up having 68 carries for 286 yards and no touchdowns, while Graham had 222 carries for 898 yards and 10 touchdowns.
8. Who had the most receptions for the Bucs in 2007?

Answer: Ike Hilliard

Ike played for the Giants for a long time and wore the number 19 for the Bucs, which was Keyshawn's old number. He had 62 catches for 722 yards but had only 1 touchdown.
9. Who did the Bucs play in Week 1 of the season?

Answer: Seattle Seahawks

They finished the season in 2006 losing at home to Seattle, and began the season the same way losing 20-6 in Seattle. If they had tied for the third seed in the NFL playoffs, Seattle would have won the tiebreaker. They swept the Falcons, 31-7 and 37-3. They lost in Detroit to the Lions 23-16, and did not play the Giants in the regular season.
10. Kicker Matt Bryant nailed a game-winning field goal to beat the Titans. How long was it?

Answer: 43 yards

The Bucs escaped with a last second win after Matt Bryant, who was also named the Bucs "Man of the Year", booted a 43-yard field goal. He did kick a 62-yard field goal in 2006 against the Eagles. That was the second longest field goal at the time behind Tom Dempsey and Jason Elam with 63-yard field goals.
