15 Points Per Correct Answer - No time limit
I don't remember this man, but I do know his legend lives on. I have even been to his house. It is huge. He must have been a king or something. It is a shame that he had to die so young. Or did he? I think I saw him last night at Wal-Mart purchasing a Miley Cyrus CD. Who died on August 16, 1977?
In 1981 I was still just a young lad of six, so I didn't quite understand the significance of a woman being appointed to the Supreme Court. This must have been quite a big deal because I remember learning about her in American History class in high school.
Sandra Day O'Connor
I guess 1981 was a good year. A little televison station called MTV debuted and although they haven't actually played music in many years, the 1980's and 1990's were a great time to be growing up for music video lovers of all ages. I wish I could remember the name of the first video they ever played.
"Money For Nothing" by Dire Straits
"Video Killed the Radio Star" by The Buggles
"I Love Rock N Roll" by Joan Jett
"We Got the Beat" by The Go-Go's
I remember this day clearly. It was about 9:00pm and I was just getting home from playing racquetball. I was a sophomore in High School. I walk in the house and on the television, I can see the U.S. military launching a huge offensive against Iraq. This would be the first of two times in my lifetime that this would happen. What year was this?
In 1992 there was a controversial court case involving this man. He was beaten on camera by several police officers, yet the court system found the officers "not guilty." This sparked many riots that resulted in heavy monetary damages to the area of South Los Angeles.
Martin Luther King
This next event happened in 1993. In the town of Waco, Texas, this group thought it would be a good idea to try to face the U.S. government in a stand-off. When the government had enough, these did what they thought was obviously the correct thing to do. They burned their compound to the ground and killed themselves off. Who were these people?
The People's Temple
The Manson Family
The Branch Davidians
I think everybody remembers Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. They also defied the government and in the process blew up a building and killed many people, including a lot of children in a day care center. In what city and state did this happen?
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
This man avoided being kicked out of office in 1999. I guess that despite the stains on the dress, people truly believed that he "did not have sexual relations with that woman, Monica Lewinski."
George W. Bush
Also in 1999 was one of the worst school killing in U.S. history. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold took several weapons into their high school and began shooting. At the end of the day 15 people were dead, including the perpetrators. At what high school did this take place?
Columbine High School
Clay County High School
Colombia Central High School
Clinton High School
Our last is a well known event. On September 11, 2001, two highjacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center. Thousands were killed and both towers collapsed. There were actually four planes highjacked that day. Can you remember where the other two planes crashed?
The Lincoln Memorial and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The White House and Erie, Pennsylvania
The Washington Monument and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania
