Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Two dice, pass line, avoid the sevens (usually).

Answer: Craps

Craps is mainly popular in the United States and Canada, even though its origins are the French game "Hazard" - just as with most casino games, the players compete against the house by rolling two dice. In Craps, there are "one-roll" bets which have a fixed outcome immediately, and there are also multi-roll bets that will be solved over many different rolls.

The most popular Craps bet is the "Pass Line" and the "Place Bet", where the most common occurrence is victory due to avoiding the dreaded number seven for as long as possible.

In fact, most players do not utter the word on a Craps table, as they believe that even alluding to the term is bad luck.
2. Try to reach 21, aces and faces are great.

Answer: Blackjack

Blackjack is the most popular game in North American casinos, partly due to its simplicity as well as the perceived element of skill. Players play against the house and must have a hand that's as close as possible to 21 without going over. Each card has a specific value, with aces acting as either a one or an 11. Card counting is possible in blackjack, and it is therefore theoretically possible to gain an edge over the house.
3. Small ball spinning around 37 (or 38) pockets.

Answer: Roulette

Roulette is French for "little wheel" and players can make wagers on where the ball will land. Some of the wages are called "outside" wagers, where the player can choose the color or rank of the numbers; inside wagers are more specific wagers, sometimes trying to predict the exact number of the 37 options listed in European Roulette.

In American Roulette, a double zero is added for a total of 38 numbers.
4. Highest card wins, ties bring trouble.

Answer: Casino War

Even the simplest children's games can turn be turned into a profitable gambling venture. The simple game gets a bit more complicated when the player and dealer tie, after which they go to war against one another, with the player risking two betting units to one just one from the dealer. This is how the casino makes its money.
5. Choose player or banker, nine is fine.

Answer: Baccarat

Baccarat is a game of French origins that was historically played in aristocratic societies. The objective of the game is to get the closest possible to the number nine without going over. The dealer will deal two cards to the "Banker" and two cards to the "Player". Bettors can wager on whether the "Banker" or "Player" will win the hand, or whether the outcome will be a Tie.

There are certain drawing rules that the dealer must follow, giving the "Banker" an edge. As a result, winning on that wager must pay a 5% commission.

A lot of side bets have also been created in the game in order to generate more money for the casino.
6. 80 numbers, feels like your own personal lottery.

Answer: Keno

Keno is a lottery-type game where players choose twenty numbers - depending on how many of the chosen numbers match the numbers generated by the machine. In fact, hitting no numbers can also give payouts - the more you match, the more money you make. Not a very skill-based game, but which casino games are? :)
7. Two cards each, play against others, five community cards.

Answer: Texas Hold'em Poker

Texas Hold'em is the most popular variation of poker player in casinos and online today - the game is usually played by up to nine players, with a dealer giving each of them two cards and dealing five community cards that are used by all players on the table. The best five-card combination of the seven total cards in each player's effective hands are used to determine the winner.
8. Five cards to the player, play against the house, raise or fold.

Answer: Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Stud is a slow-paced poker-based game that is played against the house. The player receives five cards and the dealer receives the same amount, with one card exposed to all players. The player may either fold (lose their ante) or raise (play twice their ante) and then showdown with the dealer.

There are qualification rules and various bonuses that can make the game exciting if players get a big hand. In some casinos, royal flushes can pay out millions of dollars on bonus bets.
9. Three dice, Big or Small, Odd or Even.

Answer: Sic Bo

Sic Bo is a game of Chinese origin that uses three dice that can combine for 216 combinations. You can make a variety of bets, including "triples", "big", "small", "odds", "evens" and many other potential combinations of one or two dice. The game can have large payouts but is notorious for a poor house edge.
10. Jackpots, Coins, and Reels

Answer: Slot Machines

Slot machines are the most popular games in Las Vegas and litter the casino floor - there are slot machines with themes ranging from television shows, legends, animals, and movies. In the past, coins were used in slot machines and the payouts were made in coins as well. Most modern slot machines have paper vouchers that can now be used for simplicity and represent the total amount of money own.
