Answer: Augustine

The Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park in St. Augustine, Florida is home to the alleged "fountain". Ponce de Leon landed "somewhere" in Florida in 1513, but the exact location is disputed. Nevertheless, St. Augustine capitalizes on the city being the location of Ponce de Leon's landing and the fabled fountain.

7. April 15th brought a chilly tragedy as yet another ship had a date with an iceberg. What ship met its fate in the icy Atlantic?

Answer: Titanic

The sinking of the Titanic on April 15, 1912 wasn't the first, nor the last, incident of a ship striking an iceberg. All of the ships listed had their own brushes with a berg.

It's a rare thing for a person to be born and die on the same day. What was just as rare was Shakespeare's talent and versatility as a writer, as he authored about 38 plays and at least 158 poems or sonnets. Shakespeare died on April 23, 1616.
10. April 26th saw the worst nuclear disaster the world had ever seen, deep in the bowels of the Soviet Union. What Ukrainian city (then a part of the Soviet Union) was the recipient of this atomic disaster?

Answer: Chernobyl

The reactor melting down and catching fire on April 26, 1986 contaminated wide expanses of the Soviet Union and sent radioactive particles sky high, where they eventually drifted over large amounts of western Europe. Some 500,000 workers were involved in the nearly futile clean-up, many of whom suffered from radiation sickness.

The failure of Chernobyl is often cited as the beginning of the end of the Soviet Union, which eventually dissolved several years later in 1991.
