Answer: Sam the Chinese crested

Yes, it's true, poor little Sam was a bit of an ugly mite! Sam lived in Santa Barbara, California. He died in November 2005, just before his 15th birthday.
2. Well, most of us that know dogs pant instead of sweat, don't we? Actually there is one main area where a dog does sweat. Where?

Answer: Its feet

Dogs sweat between their paw pads. Their sweat glands are called merocrine glands, and these are found in their foot pads. This sweating allows dogs to cool themselves. Now where do you get doggy odour eaters?

Answer: They have a soft spot on their skull which closes with age

The soft spot has caused veterinarians some issues, as many are ignorant this breed specific issue. The soft spot on a puppy's head is called an open fontanel. The spot normally closes within one to two months of age.

Answer: Thomas Jefferson

Jefferson, despite owning several sheepdogs, professed to be very anti-dog. In response to fellow landowners' calls to make pet owners liable for damage caused by their dogs (mainly to livestock), Jefferson called for licencing.

Answer: Turned them into the constellations Canis Major and Minor

For a while, Laelaps belonged to King Minos. Eventually, Zeus' actions made Laelaps' hunt for the fox continue forever, frozen in space for us all to see.

Answer: Canis molossus

Canis molossus, who were trained for battle were outmatched by the British Mastiffs, leading to the Romans importing Mastiffs all over the world.
10. What was the name of the first dog in space?

Answer: Laika

Laika was sent to outer space by the Russians on November 3, 1957. Sadly, poor Laika was expected to be on a one-way mission. It is supposed that the stray dog from Moscow died just a few hours after takeoff. This wasn't revealed until 2002.
