1. Leinster House

Answer: The Irish Parliament

Leinster House is the home of Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann, the parliament and senate in Ireland. It is on Kildare Street, in the centre of the city. The building was completed in 1748, as the home of the Duke of Leinster. It has been the home of the parliament since 1922.
2. Newgrange

Answer: A Neolithic tomb

Newgrange is a Neolithic burial mound in the county of Meath. It is over 5200 years old. One of its incredible features is that it is built in such a way that at sunrise on the 21st of December, the sun shines directly into the passage to the centre and lights it up.

This is the only day of the year this happens, and indicates that people that built it knew that it was the shortest day of the year.
3. Croke Park

Answer: A sports stadium

Croke Park is home of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), the governing body for Ireland's two main national sports, Gaelic Football and Hurling. It is the largest stadium in Ireland and one of the largest in Europe, with a capacity of 82,300 people. It is named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, the first patron of the GAA, after it was founded in 1884.

Literally meaning "The house of the president", this magnificent building is in the centre of Phoenix Park in Dublin, which is one of the largest parks in Europe. A president of Ireland is the head of state, though not the head of government. A presidential term is seven years, with a limit of two terms.

The Rotunda is a maternity hospital located in Parnell Square, in the centre of the city of Dublin. It has been a maternity hospital since 1757.

The famous Blarney Stone is located in Blarney Castle. Every year, many visitors go to the top of the castle, to kiss the stone. It is about eight kilometres or five miles from Cork city.

Fota Island is a wildlife park near the city of Cork. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife from around the world.
8. Shannon

Answer: An airport

Shannon Airport is in County Clare, near the city of Limerick, and close to the river Shannon, from where the airport and nearby town get their name. It is one of the main airports in Ireland, and many trans-Atlantic flights land there.
9. Trinity College

Trinity College Dublin is Ireland's most prestigious university. it is located in the centre of the city. In its library, the famous Book of Kells is on display, in a glass case. Many visitors come to see it.
10. Tramore

Answer: A big beach

Tramore comes from the Irish words "Trá" which means a beach, an "Mór" which means big. The town of Tramore is a coastal town in County Waterford. Many holidaymakers come to the town every year. Its large beach is one of its main attractions.
11. Glendalough

Answer: A monastic settlement

Glendalough, in county Wicklow is a scenic location. The name means the glen of two lakes. In the 6th century St. Kevin founded a monastery here. People still come to visit the site, see the lakes and do the many walks and hikes in the area.

Different places in Ireland were used for scenes in "Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens", "Star Wars Episode VIII The Last Jedi" and "Star Wars Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker". Among the places used were the Blasket Islands, off the coast of County Kerry in the southwest of Ireland.
13. Knock

Answer: A place of pilgrimage

On the 21st of August 1879, a 15 people reported seeing an apparition at the gable end of a church in the town of Knock, in county Mayo. They saw Our Lady, St. Joseph, St. John the Evangelist, and a Lamb and cross on an altar. People now come to visit this place on pilgrimages every year.
14. Cobh

Answer: RMS Titanic

On the 11th of April 1912, RMS Titanic left Queenstown, its last stop before it sank on the 15th of April. Queenstown is now known as Cobh (pronounced "Cove"). It is a town near the city of Cork, which attracts many visitors. The town is also famous for its cathedral and colourful doors of some houses in the town.
15. The Curragh

Answer: Horseracing

The Curragh is a place in County Kildare. It has a racecourse where many major horse races are ran each year, including the Irish Derby. The area is also associated with the breeding and training of racehorses.
