Answer: An Irish Goodbye

"An Irish Goodbye" was directed by Tom Berkeley and Ross White. In the film two brothers (Turlough and Lorcan) from Northern Ireland reunite after the death of their mother. Turlough desires to sell the family farm while Lorcan, who has Down Syndrone, wants to keep it.

The brothers are informed by Father O'Shea that their mother had a bucket list of 100 items that they try to complete while they travel around with an urn carrying her ashes.
2. The journey of a donkey born in a Polish circus

Answer: EO

"EO" was directed by Jerzy Skolimowski and it is a depiction of the life of a donkey named Eo that travels across Europe. At various times Eo is taken care of by a priest, a countess and a Polish soccer team. Some of Eo's caretakers treat him nicely while others treat him unkindly. Six different donkeys portray Eo in the film.

Eventually, several of the generals would receive lengthy prison sentences for the crimes committed that included facilitating the disappearance and murder of thousands of dissidents.

"Le pupille" was written and directed by Alice Rohrwacher. The film's title is Italian for 'the pupils' because as Rohrwacher describes "although the obedient girls can't move, their pupils can dance the unrestrained dance of freedom." The girls in the film somewhat rebel against the strict rules of their Catholic boarding school as they desire to more actively celebrate the advent season.

Released as "Nattrikken" in Norway in 2020, the film was released to international markets as "Night Ride" in 2022. "Night Ride" was written and directed by Eirik Tveiten and it stars Sigrid Kandal Husjord as Ebba. As one might expect, on Ebba's tram ride some unexpected and dangerous circumstances come up.

"All Quiet on the Western Front" is based on the 1929 novel of the same name by Erich Maria Remarque who wrote the novel based on his own experiences. In the film Paul enlists as a 17-year old soldier in 1917 with idealistic views of German nationalism. However, his idealism quickly vanishes when he is on the western front of World War I and he sees the brutality of trench warfare.
7. A girl named Pipaluk searches for her older sister in Greenland

Answer: Ivalu

"Ivalu" is a Danish film that is based on a graphic novel of the same name by Morten Dürr and Lars Horneman. In the film Pipaluk searches the frozen landscape of Greenland for her sister Ivalu who has presumably run away from home. Their father shockingly doesn't even try and help Pipaluk search for his daughter as he feels that if she wants to run away that's her decision.
8. A neglected nine-year old girl named Cáit moves in with a foster family

Answer: The Quiet Girl

"The Quiet Girl" is based on the 2010 novella "Foster" that was written by Claire Keegan. The film takes place in 1981 in rural Ireland and in the film Cáit has four other siblings and her mother is pregnant. Cáit is neglected and mistreated by her parents and is happy to be able to live with Eibhlín and Seán who she ends up loving. Cáit finds out that Eibhlín and Seán had a child who died in an accident and she desires to not be returned back to her parents.
9. A frightened Iranian girl contemplates her life while at Luxembourg Airport

Answer: The Red Suitcase

"The Red Suitcase" was directed by Cyrus Neshvad. The film depicts a sixteen-year-old Ariane at Luxembourg Airport waiting for her red suitcase at the luggage carousel. Ariane is terrified of the future direction of her life as she has left Iran and she lets the red suitcase go around the luggage carousel several times.

She pauses at the exit gate knowing that once she goes beyond it her life will be totally different than it was before and she is nervous about what is to come.
10. Two Belgian boys who are best friends get estranged after their sexuality is questioned

Answer: Close

"Close" was written and directed by Lukas Dhont. In the film thirteen-year-olds Léo and Rémi are best friends whose closeness is noticed and accepted by their parents but not by their peers at school. When questioned about their sexuality, Léo denies that they are a couple while Rémi does not deny it. Léo distances himself from Rémi and eventually Rémi ends up committing suicide. Léo ends up blaming himself for Rémi's death and he tries to console Rémi's grieving mother.
