Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

Manchester City began life as St Mark's in 1880 with the Manchester City name dating from 1894. Their home kit consists of white shorts with a light blue shirt and socks. Ipswich Town play at Portman Road and were established in 1878 as an amateur team, before joining the Football League in 1938. Known as 'The Tractor Boys', their kit is a dark blue shirt, white shorts and dark blue socks. In the Midlands, Coventry City play in a pale blue kit with their shirts, shorts and socks all being this colour, with some white. The club dates from 1883 and is nicknamed 'The Sky Blues'. Also in the Midlands are Birmingham City, known as 'The Blues', who began life as Small Heath. Their home kit consists of a blue shirt and shorts with white socks.

Heading back north, we find Everton, Liverpool's other team. and a founder member of the Football League in 1888. Their home ground is Goodison Park and their kit is a dark blue shirt with white shorts and socks. Wycombe Wanderers are located in Buckinghamshire in the south east of England. Their kit has two shades of blue - sky blue and navy blue - with the shirt divided into quarters of these contrasting colours. The shorts are dark blue and the socks feature both shades of blue. Moving to Wales, we find Cardiff City, who play in the English football league. Known as 'The Bluebirds', they play home matches in all blue with shirts, shorts and socks all a mid blue shade.

Another team sometimes known as 'The Blues', Chelsea play in London at the stadium called Stamford Bridge. Their kit has blue shirts and shorts of a medium blue with predominantly white socks. Known as 'The Foxes', Leicester City play in the East Midlands of England. Another team with home colours of a medium shade of blue, all parts of the kit are predominantly this colour, with white stripes making the kit a bit more distinctive. Portsmouth play at Fratton Park and are located in Hampshire, on the south coast of England. Their shirts are mid-blue and the shorts are white. The socks are, perhaps surprisingly, bright red.

Of the incorrect options Liverpool, Manchester United, Charlton Athletic and Sunderland all play in red, although Sunderland's shirts are red and white stripes. Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur both play in all white kits while Newcastle United have black and white stripes, hence their nickname of 'The Magpies'. Wolverhampton Wanderers are rather different, with black shorts and gold coloured shirts, the only team with this colour combination.
