Brett of the Royals was in his eighth season with the team in 1980. That was the fifth time he had batted over .300. For his .390 average and other endeavors, he was voted the AL MVP for the season. One of the few one-team loyal players, Brooks was a Baltimore Oriole from 1955-1977. In his 23 seasons, he won 16 Gold Gloves at third base. Wearing the number 5 on his back, he won the American League MVP in 1964 over Yankees Mickey Mantle and Elston Howard. Hitting 268 home runs in his career, he hit three in four World Series.

The Hall of Fame inducted Brooks in 1983 along with Walter Alston, George Kell, and Juan Marichal.
3. Which third baseman was the World Series MVP in 2007?

Answer: Mike Lowell

Lowell was the Boston Red Sox third baseman when they went up against the Rockies in the World Series. Mike batted .400 and went 6-for-15 in the series that saw the Red Sox skunk the Rockies, four games to none. It was Boston's seventh World Series title in franchise history.
