Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Over the course of the one season, which of these characters did NOT have a parent appear in an episode?

Answer: Ken

Daniel's mother, Katey Desario, appeared in "Noshing and Moshing"; she asked Daniel to get his father's medication. Millie's mother appeared in "Dead Dogs and Gym Teachers"; she came to get Millie when she was hanging out with her new friends before the Who concert. Kim's mother, Cookie Kelly, appeared in "Kim Kelly Is My Friend" and "The Diary".

Although Ken discussed his parents on different occasions, he never had one of them appear in any episodes.
2. What street did the Weirs live on?

Answer: Gnome Drive

Neal mentions it in the "Beers and Weirs" episode when he makes the phone call to the police to report a noisy party. He says the address is 13 Gnome Drive. You can also sort of make it out on the envelope addressed to Lindsay from her aunt, when she receives the birthday card with $300 in it, in "Carded and Discarded".
3. The McKinley High mascot's name is the Norseman.

Answer: True

A kid named Herbert was the Norseman until he broke his arm and suffered a concussion after a fall in "We've Got Spirit". Sam was selected as the next Norseman, but didn't want to do it after seeing Cindy with Todd, so Neal was the Norseman for the big game. Apparently someone else was chosen because in the episode "The Little Things", a guy in the costume (carrying the head) is seen before the assembly in the cafeteria.
4. On what street is A 1 Sporting Goods, Mr. Weir's store, located?

Answer: 16 Mile

In "The Little Things", when Lindsay tells her parents that she was chosen to ask the Vice President a question, Mr. Weir tells her she should mention that her father owns A 1 Sporting Goods, on 16 mile. You can also see it on the t-shirt he gets her to wear to the assembly at school.

The t-shirt also shows where in Michigan they are, Chippewa. We know they're near Detroit, but the only other mention that I noticed of Chippewa was in "Noshing and Moshing". Nick, Ken and Daniel are in a convenience store when they notice a girl who dropped out of high school, Jenna Zank. Ken questions why anyone would drop out and then stay in Chippewa.
5. In the episode, "Girlfriends and Boyfriends", the real-life father of one of the regular characters played Mr. Mainzer, the yearbook teacher. Whose real-life father was it?

Answer: John Francis Daley (Sam Weir)

Mr. Mainzer was played by John's father, R.F. Daley, who is better known as a Broadway actor. R.F. Daley also played the father of Anthony Ward, the character played by his son John, on "Boston Public".
6. In "Carded and Discarded", Sam, Neal and Bill take a liking to Maureen Sampson, a cute transfer student who joins their biology class. Where did Maureen move there from?

Answer: Florida

The guys find Maureen sitting at their table in the cafeteria, and ask her to join them. Sam asks Maureen where she came from and she tells them her family moved from Florida when her dad got transferred to General Motors. Maureen appeared in three episodes total, "Carded and Discarded", when they first meet her; "Chokin' and Tokin'", when she accompanies Vicki to the hospital to console Sam and Neal; and "Smooching and Mooching", where she's at the makeout party playing 'Spin the Bottle'. Maureen was played by Kayla Ewell, who appeared in "The Sullivan Sisters" on TV, and is a regular on "The Bold and the Beautiful".
7. You may have noticed a student who appears everywhere at school. He's in "The Diary", as one of the students in Bill's gym class, he's in "Discos and Dragons" as the student who helps Daniel set up the projector in Mr. Caspar's class, and he's in "We've Got Spirit" as one of the students trying out for the school mascot. What is this student's name?

Answer: Humphries

Humphries was played by Michael Beardsley, and is listed as a cast member by IMDb, rather than a guest. His name was mentioned in "The Diary" when he was chosen for a team. You can also see him in a lot of the hallway scenes. Beardsley has appeared in uncredited roles in "Men in Black II", "Crazy/Beautiful", "Joe Dirt" and "Dude, Where's My Car".
8. Sam sees Dr. Schweiber at the mall hugging his mistress (although he claims she's an old friend from school). What was her name?

Answer: Carol

Dr. Schweiber introduces her to Sam as Carol. The character is listed as 'Dr. Schweiber's Mistress' on IMDb's guest appearances for the show, but Dr. Schweiber says her name in "The Garage Door".
9. What was the name of the biology teacher?

Answer: Mr. Lacovera

Hector Lacovera was the biology teacher who had Cindy, Sam, Neal, Bill, Gordon and Maureen as his students. He was played by Trace Beaulieu, who has written for "America's Funniest Home Videos" and for "Mystery Science Theater 3000", as well as appearing as Crow T. Robot and Dr. Clayton Forrester in "Mystery Science Theater 3000".
10. The DJ at the disco where Nick and Sara dance, in the episode "Discos and Dragons", was in two previous episodes with a different profession (playing the same character). Where else did he work?

Answer: Clothing store

Poor thing never even got a name. Joel Hodgson played the 'Salesman' at the clothing store where the freaks talk to Howie to get fake ID's in "Carded and Discarded". He played the same salesman who sold Sam his Parisian night suit, in "Looks and Books".

In "Discos and Dragons", he was billed as 'Discotheque DJ'. Ken made reference to his previous employment when he was heckling the DJ. He told him to go back to selling shirts at the mall. Joel Hodgson is a stand-up comedian, and also the creator of "Mystery Science Theater 3000".
