Brazil is the largest country in South America and the fifth largest country in the world (by area). The capital is Brasilia, the official currency is the Brazilian real and the official language is Portuguese. Spanish and English are also widely spoken.

The distinctive Brazilian flag shows a starry sky in a blue disc with the motto "Ordem e Progresso" ("Order and Progress") written across it. The blue disc is inside a yellow rhombus, against a green background.

The flag of Suriname has two green horizontal borders at the top and bottom. There are two thinner white stripes that are also horizontal and a middle red horizontal band. On the thick red band there is a gold star. The flag was designed from a national competition. The green borders represent agriculture, the white bands represent independence, and the red stripe represents hope and progress. The star represents the sacrifices that led to independence as well as a bright future.

Peru is the third largest country in South America. The official language is Spanish however there are more than eighty other languages spoken there, many of them Indigenous languages. The capital city is Lima and Peru is home to part of the Amazon Rainforest and the sites Machu Picchu and Cusco. The national anthem is called "Firme y feliz por la unión" in Spanish.

The flag of Peru has three vertical stripes, all of the same size. The middle is white while the outer stripes are red. When it is used by the government, it includes a coat of arms in the middle.

The capital of Chile is Santiago, the official language is Spanish and the currency used is the peso. Chile is divided into regions, provinces and communes. Regions, of which there are sixteen, are the largest administrative areas, with communes being the smallest. The national flower is the copihue, or bellflower.

The flag of Chile is red, white and blue. Along the bottom of the flag is a thick red band. In the top left corner is a blue square that contains a white star. Next to that blue square is a white band. The white band represents the Andes Mountains, the red band represents the sacrifices made in the fight for independence and the blue represents the sea. The white star represents that Chile is one single and indivisible state.

The governmental capital of Bolivia is La Paz and the constitutional capital is Sucre. The country is divided into nine departments. The main language spoken there is Spanish but there are other Indigenous languages spoken, including Quechua and Aymara.

There are three stripes on the flag of Bolivia. The top is red, the middle is yellow and the bottom is green. In the middle of the flag there is a coat of arms. The red represents courage, the yellow represents the rich minerals of the country and the green represents the country's fertility. In 2009 an alternative flag was adopted called the Wiphala. This flag is red with a coat of arms in the middle and represents unity and equality.

On the front on the white middle band is the coat of arms while on the back on the white middle band is the seal of the treasury.
