Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was Stephenie's occupation before she was a contestant in "Palau"?

Answer: Pharmaceutical Sales Rep

While Stephenie worked as a territory sales representative for a pharmaceutical sales company before going out to Palau, she has done some bartending as well. She has also kept busy by being a member of the Monmouth University Blue and White Club and has coached at local clinics.
2. Stephenie was known as a pretty smart player in "Survivor: Palau". However, she did make one blunder way back in episode 1. What was this error?

Answer: Jumping off their boat too early

The Survivors were traveling in a boat in the middle of the ocean, when they were told that the first man and woman to reach the beach would win Immunity. Some contemplated jumping off the boat and swimming to shore while they were still far away, but Stephenie and Jonathan were the only ones that actually did it. That turned out to be a huge mistake, as the boat was going much faster than they could swim. Stephenie later realized that she did an incredibly stupid thing and was worried she'd be targeted.

It didn't seem to hurt Stephenie, but the same couldn't be said for Jonathan, who wasn't even picked for a tribe.
3. Everyone in the Koror tribe knew that Stephenie was a threat, but the main reason she was voted out in episode 11 was because the people of Koror just didn't like her.

Answer: False

Stephenie was voted out in episode 11 because she was a gigantic threat, and many people weren't afraid to say this. First of all, she had proved while in Ulong that she was very physically strong and would be tough to beat in the challenges. Second, Gregg was worried that she would go straight to the finish due to her being the last member of Ulong and everyone would feel sorry for her - guaranteeing her winning the game. Lastly, her drive and will to win was so powerful, that the Koror tribe knew they had to get rid of her fast.

Many of them liked and respected Stephenie; they just didn't want to compete against her.
4. Stephenie was 25 when "Survivor: Palau" aired. How old was Stephenie when she bought her own house?

Answer: 23

Purchasing her own home at 23 years old was one of the things Stephenie said she was most proud of; the other was being offered academic and athletic scholarships to two universities. Being a sales rep must pay very well to be able to buy a house at that age!
5. Stephenie proved her athletic skills when she was in Palau. Which of the following was NOT a sport she played in high school?

Answer: Volleyball

Stephenie played varsity lacrosse, field hockey, and swimming when she attended Archbishop Prendergast High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She also played Division One Lacrosse at Temple University and Monmouth University and was team captain her senior year of college. Additionally, Stephenie was a Female Athlete of the Year Nominee. Sports must have fueled her competitive nature, which was very evident in "Palau".
6. What was Stephenie's major in college?

Answer: Business Administration

Stephenie received her B.S. degree in business administration from Monmouth University in Long Branch, New Jersey. Her degree concentrated on marketing and management.
7. At the very beginning of "Survivor: Palau", was Stephenie in an original alliance with Tom, Ian, and Gregg?

Answer: No

When the game first started and the tribes hadn't even been formed yet, Stephenie was part of a tentative alliance with Tom, Ian, and Katie. Gregg was not part of this alliance at that time. Unfortunately, Tom, Ian, and Katie became members of Koror and Stephenie went to Ulong.

While they were separate tribes, Tom, Ian, and Katie talked about bringing Stephenie back into the alliance when they merged, but when Stephenie joined Koror, they changed their minds because of Stephenie being such a fierce competitor. How sad for us all!
8. While a member of Ulong, which female Koror contestant did Stephenie seem to square off against the most?

Answer: Jennifer

For some reason, Stephenie and Jennifer seemed to square off against each other in the challenges. Some examples would be the Reward Challenge in episode 3 and the Immunity Challenge in episode 4, where Stephenie beat Jennifer both times. When Stephenie became a member of Koror, Jennifer was very vocal about wanting to get rid of her, as they were rivals.
9. In episode 1, what did Stephenie get upset with Jolanda about?

Answer: Jolanda causing Ulong to lose the challenge

Plain and simple, Jolanda caused Ulong to lose their first Immunity Challenge. When they got to the part of the challenge where they had to select weighted items to take, Koror moved ahead by only taking fire, but Jolanda insisted on taking everything, and she wouldn't hear of anything else.

These actions resulted in Ulong falling behind and losing the challenge. Stephenie called Jolanda on this later, and Jolanda was voted out that night.
10. When Stephenie was unanimously voted out, who did she vote for? To refresh your memory, the remaining Koror members at the time were Caryn, Gregg, Ian, Jennifer, Katie, and Tom.

Answer: Caryn

Stephenie's complete voting history consisted of Jolanda, Ashlee, Jeff, Kim, Bobby Jon/Angie, Ibrehem/James, Ibrehem, Coby, Caryn, and Tom to win "Survivor: Palau". Slashes indicate tiebreakers where Stephenie changed her vote. Caryn got Stephenie's vote when she was voted out of the game.
