Grandma's Boy Trivia Questions

1. A recurring character in many Adam Sandler produced movies, Rob Schneider plays what role in "Grandma's Boy"?

From Quiz
Grandma's Boy

Answer: Alex's landlord

Allen Covert stars as Alex, a video game tester who is forced to move in with his grandma after getting kicked out of his apartment by the landlord Yuri, played by Rob Schneider. Jonathan Loughran, another regular in several Happy Madison productions, plays Alex's roommate Josh who reveals that he is the reason they're getting evicted (after using the rent money on an Asian massage parlor).

2. What was the name of Alex's roommate?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy

Answer: Josh

Josh wasn't a very good roommate because he wasted the last six months' rent on massage therapists. Josh was only seen a couple of times in the movie. He was at the beginning and at the party later at Alex's Grandmother's house.

3. What was the name of the video game company that Alex worked for?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy

Answer: Brainasium

Mr.Cheezle owned the company called Brainasium. When everyone finished the corrections on J.P.'s game, he picked a restaurant called "Our Lady Health" for everyone to have a celebration dinner at.

4. What brand name beverage does Mr. Cheezle have on the table for the video game testers during a meeting?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy

Answer: Vitamin water

It took a few times watching the movie before noticing this overlooked prop. At the time the movie was released Vitamin Water was a popular beverage. Mr. Cheezle's tea is used in the first meeting he has with Samantha. In this scene she takes a sip, finds it disgusting, and quickly spits it back into the tea cup before Mr. Cheezle sees her do it. Mr. Cheezle is played by Kevin Nealon, whose most notable Happy Madison role is a cameo in "Happy Gilmore". Mountain Dew is often thought of as a popular soda beverage of choice among many room dwellers who partake in such activities as interactive online games and role-playing board games. Dr. Pepper just seems like an obscure acquired taste much like Root Beer, both of which could qualify under the taster's choice for the digital generation.

5. Who was not one of Alex's co-workers?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy

Answer: Josh

Josh was Alex's roommate, not co-worker. Kane, Jeff, and Barry were all really good friends of Alex's. All of them were helping fix the bugs in J.P.'s game "Eternal Death Slayer 3".

6. Who says "My beef strong!"?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy

Answer: Dr. Shakalu

In response to Dr. Shakalu's loud, musical interruption at the party, Dante responds with "your beef wrong!" Dr. Shakalu is the comic relief to the already established comic relief of Dante throughout the movie.

7. What was interesting about Dante's name?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy

Answer: The actor who played him was really named Peter Dante.

After I watched the movie, I was looking up information online about it. I realized that the actor who played Dante was named Peter Dante. I thought it was clever that they made the character's name be the actor's actual last name.

8. What game are all the testers working on to meet the release deadline?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy

Answer: Eternal Death Slayer III

"Demonic" is the game Alex develops on his own, but J.P. tried to pass off as his own idea. "Eternal Death Slayer" is the first video game that J.P. designed at the age of 12...making him a sort of a prodigy as stated by Mr. Cheezle. There is very likely an "Eternal Death Slayer II" but it is not mentioned in the movie. When Mr. Cheezle first introduces J.P. to Samantha, he confirms that everything they say about him being a prodigy is true. In fact, J.P. tells Samantha he beat the "Legend of Zelda" before he learned to walk. The current project the testers are working on is "Eternal Death Slayer III". In one scene Kane (one of the testers) calls it "Eternal Death Slayer". J.P. is so sensitive to such a mislabel that he immediately corrects Kane by saying it is called "Eternal Death Slayer III" or even "EDS III".

9. Why did Dante say he wanted a lion?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy

Answer: "To protect my stuff"

Dante said Alex couldn't stay at his house because the lion was coming in a couple of days. Alex asked him why and he responded with "To protect my stuff." Then Alex asked "Never heard of a dog?" and Dante said "Dude, you can get past a dog, nobody messes with a lion." Later in the movie, a woman was interviewing Dante about the lion that was found in the neighborhood and he acted like it wasn't his. Dr. Shakalu, who got the lion for him, was in the background of the interview.

10. What was the name of the video game that Alex had been working on for three years?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy

Answer: Demonik

J.P. came over and cried to Alex that he felt left out. In return, Alex tried to be nice and comforted him. Then, J.P. saw Alex's game and started playing it. When he saw how awesome the game was, he tried to act like he was going to help and give Alex some notes on it. His real plan was to steal it and try to pawn it off as his own.

11. What is the name of the company that Alex and the testers work at?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy

Answer: Brainasium

12. What was the name of the roommate who died at Alex's grandma's house?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy

15. What did Dante buy Alex for a present, for his game being released at the end of the movie?

From Quiz Grandma's Boy
