There were no twins in the group. In fact, none of them were actually related. The group was made up by Alannah Currie, Tom Baily, and Joe Leeway. The name came from a comic strip with two bumbling detectives called "Thompson and Thompson". Eventually Baily and Currie had a child together, but no twins! The song was the first single from the groups album "Into the Gap". The single reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in the USA, and it peaked at number four on the UK Singles chart.

"I Can't Tell You Why" and "Seven Bridges Road" were 1980 top forty hits for The Eagles and their only Billboard top forty singles in the eighties. The Who formed in 1964.

Virgin Records liked the demos and signed the group in the UK. Epic Records signed Culture Club in the US because Virgin did not have a US office. Their second album, "Colour by Numbers", was released in 1983. The second single released from the album was "Karma Chameleon". "Miss Me Blind" hit number four in on the US Billboard charts 1984. "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" made number two in 1982. "I'll Tumble 4 Ya" made it to number nine the following year.

In 1974 they replaced Stone with Michael Anthony, who had been the bassist and vocalist for "Snake". After learning that the name Mammoth had been taken they called themselves Van Halen. The song was written by songwriters Tom Snow and Dean Pitchford when the producers realized there was no song from the girlfriend's perspective. After DeNiece Williams recorded the song the producer thought she sounded too much like a young girl. He wanted a more intense version. DeNiece was rushed from New York to LA to cut another version. Because of deadline issues she sang the retake in twenty minutes. She didn't even have time to get her luggage at the airport. It is her first solo number one. She had a duet hit with Johnny Mathis with "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late". Matthew Wilder's "Break My Stride" was number five in January, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" made the top five for Cindi Lauper in February and Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" made the top five in June.
