The gothic dance band Cruxshadows' 2002 release, "Wishfire", is more dance-oriented then ever before. There is no song called "The Messenger" on any Cruxshadows CD's, either.

From Quiz Gothy Blackness

Answer: Lacuna Coil - "Heaven's A Lie"

"Set me free Your Heaven's a lie. Set me free with your love, Set me free." Lacuna Coil, which translates to "Empty Spiral" in English, was one of the first Italian goth/metal bands to make it big in America underworld. But with Cristina Scabbia's haunting voice, it's not hard to see why. "Heaven's A Lie" was a U.S commercial radio success.

From Quiz Gothic Music Part 2

Answer: You Don't Own Me

The gothic band called Rasputina often combines haunting melodies with string arrangements. They have also worked with Marilyn Manson in the past, though he isn't quite goth. "You Don't Own Me" was one of the biggest surprises I have ever heard them do.

9. What is the only gothic compilation box set from Cleopatra records to feature the band Lestat?

From Quiz Gothic Music Part 1

Answer: 'The Goth Box'

Though Lestat has several releases, all are hard to find due to their not having major label support. '?', from their 'Vision Of Sorrows' release, is the only track to make a gothic sampler.

10. Who sang this sweet duet?: "Oh my dearest, the sweet music in the ear. Albeit, daresay I, the lullaby of an everso dark sleep. My precious, likest thou what emergeth yon distance? The throbbing and breathing of life's machinery!"

From Quiz Gothy Blackness

Answer: Theatre Of Tragedy - "Rose For The Dead"

"Give praise for the blood it bled, Grant a rose for the dead! Grant a rose for the dead!" Though their lyrics are poignant and tragically beautiful, those who know and love this duo are mostly captured by the wonderful contrast in voices. Liv Kristine, with her near-operatic voice melds into a hypnotyzing treat when Raymond Rohonyi lays down his dramatic death-metal growl. Unfortunately, the band parted ways before they released their 2000 album, "Musique".

11. What group/solo artist wrote "Yeah, I am the one exterminating sun."?

Originally, the band was called Bauhaus 1919 after the German art movement, but dropped the 1919 from their name in 1979.

From Quiz Gothy Blackness

Answer: The Cruxshadows - "The Dying Song"

"Dreams may pass and dreams may fade. Nothing I love will stay the same. Nothing ever stays the same." Try as I might, the only name I could find for the lead singer of Cruxshadows was Rogue, a nickname given to him when he was a young boy. Rogue was performing long before he was old enough to attend concerts of his own. With their elegant lyrics, occasional haunting violin and Rogue's deeply, darkly seductive voice, The Cruxshadows is guaranteed to delight, enrapture and excite their fans for as long as they're willing to play.

23. From the CD "Vampire The Masquerade: Music From The Succubus Club", which band represented the Ravnos clan?

From Quiz Gothic Music Part 2

24. What other name was the band Xymox known as?

From Quiz Gothic Music Part 1

Answer: 'Clan of Xymox'

I still dont know anything about Clan Of Xymox but I do have Xymox's 'Phoenix' and 'Twist Of Shadows' discs. The othe band names are all made up ones with a slight sence of humor.

From Quiz Gothy Blackness

Answer: Type O Negative - "Black No. 1"

"Yeah, you wanna go out 'cause it's raining and blowing. You can't go out 'cause your roots are showing. Dye 'em black, dye 'em black. Black black black black number one. Black black black black number one." Born out of New York, Type O Negative is led by vocalist/bassist/songwriter Peter Steele, with a voice that thunders lowly, much like Vincent Price. The band's debut album, "Slow, Deep and Hard" was released in 1991, featuring long, monotone dirges like, "Unsuccessfully Coping With The Natural Beauty of Infidelity." Not everyone appreciated Peter Steele's morbid sense of humor though, once being quoted by a critic who charged him with being "a homicidal misogynist and Nazi sympathizer." Any twisted little Gothling would be a fool to not own at least one Type O Negative album.

28. Elizabeth Fraser is the vocalist for which band?

Should have been an easy one ;) Elizabeth also contributed vocals for This Mortal Coil (a 4AD 'supergroup' of sorts) and The Wolfgang Press.
