After the first attempt on Dylan's life was ruined when the guys kidnapped him for a bachelor party, Marchette's hit men tried again after the wedding. It was dark out and raining, so they couldn't see that Toni was driving Dylan's car. They shot her by mistake. Toni died and Dylan left town shortly after.
