"Good God, Y'all"- Castiel needed a special amulet that would glow/burn brightly in the presence of God. Which man was wearing it?

From Quiz "Released Rebuilt Relinquished Reunited- Pt. 28"

'Supernatural'- Season 5 Trivia Questions

2. "Sam, Interrupted" - Sam and Dean checked into a mental hospital to discover what was killing patients. Which former hunter called them there?

From Quiz Hospital, Hijacked, Hunted, Hunger, Haunted -Pt 30

Answer: Martin

Jon Gries played Martin, a former hunter and current mental patient. The men were easily admitted when they were both extremely forthcoming to a doctor about the truth of their lives. They continued to be honest while inside the place. All three incorrect choices are characters from "Lost".

3. Which person, famous for being an airhead, does the god take on in its final form before being beheaded in "Fallen Idols"?

From Quiz Idols, Offspring, Angels and Demons- Pt. 29

Answer: Paris Hilton

Leshi was a forest God who killed its worshipers and fed off their blood. It could take on endless forms, to lure people into loving it. In this episode, this particular pest was in Canton, Ohio and using the local wax museum for inspiration. A few inside jokes were made in reference in Jared Padalecki's appearance in "House of Wax" along side famous ditz Paris Hilton. Jared and Paris' characters both were killed in that movie.

4. "Sympathy For The Devil"- What happened to our unsuccessful heroes as the gate to Hell opened up?

From Quiz Released Rebuilt Relinquished Reunited- Pt. 28

Answer: They were mysteriously transported onto an airplane

Castiel actually died at Carver Edlund's home in the previous episode, but we were to see him again. Actor Misha Collins did several pre-premier interviews with the crew about Castiel's return. One of these was an appearance at the summer 2009 Comic-Con. As the brilliant white light (white light interesting) spilled forth from the gate to hell, Sam and Dean found themselves aboard an aircraft over the town below. They discussed, briefly, how that may have happened and went to Carver's home to try and find Castiel. While there, Zachariah the archangel appeared to collect his servant Dean Winchester. Dean had time to create the blood symbol Castiel used to rid them of Zach before, and after labeling the irritant with a few colorful nicknames, he sent him packing.

5. In "Good God, Y'all," what song was coming from the radio of the abandoned car while Sam and Dean were walking into town?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 5 Serious Fan Trivia

Answer: "Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum

Like the Impala, the classic rock music of "Supernatural" is an integral part of the show. While "Spirit in the Sky" was the song for this scene, "Eye of the Tiger" was in the season 4 "Yellow Fever" episode, "Lonely is the Night" was in the season 4 episode, "Are You There God? It's Me, Dean Winchester," and "Crystal Ship" was in the season 2 episode, "Born Under a Bad Sign".

6. Delivered to them by an angel named Joshua, what was God's message to Sam and Dean at the end of "Dark Side of the Moon"?

From Quiz The End- Pt.31

Answer: "Back off."

Joshua reported that God already knew everything that they wanted to tell him. God's message was "back off". Joshua confirmed that God was somewhere on Earth, but he did not know where. He also told the men that God was not going to intervene in the Apocalypse. Ash had earlier admitted that he'd seen Sam and Dean in Heaven before this occasion, but they must have had their memories of it wiped away. So, Joshua said that this time God wanted them both to remember their trip to Heaven, and they did. Roger Aaron Brown played the angel Joshua.

7. "Sam, Interrupted" - Which hospital worker was the actual monster?

From Quiz Hospital, Hijacked, Hunted, Hunger, Haunted -Pt 30

Answer: Karla

Karla was a wraith, and would infect people to crank up their crazy. This effect would make the brains she drained even tastier. Dean was able to kill her as Sam suffered the hallucinations she'd caused. Lara Gilchrist played Karla. She played Holly in an earlier episode called "Scarecrow" in season one.

8. "I Believe the Children are Our Future"- Jesse Turner's powers came from his half human, half what parentage?

From Quiz Idols, Offspring, Angels and Demons- Pt. 29

Answer: demon

Jesse was able to make things happen in his town, just because of his childlike belief in the impossible. He was not evil, yet, but had a cold demeanor about him. His mother had been taken by a demon, and after Jesse's birth she gave him away to be raised by another couple. Jesse, in the end, declined the Winchesters' help and left town alone. Gattlin Griffith played Jesse. He was also in the film "Changeling" with Angelina Jolie.

9. "Sympathy For The Devil"- Carver sent a "super-fan" to deliver a message to the men. What item did she tell them they needed, which was located in a castle on a hill of 42 dogs?

From Quiz Released Rebuilt Relinquished Reunited- Pt. 28

Answer: the sword of Michael

Super "Supernatural" fan Becky Rosen was deeply engrossed in what appeared to be a love story between Sam and Dean of her own creation. She was, obviously, writing fan-fic based on her favorite book series by Carver "Chuck" Edlund when he called her to deliver a message to the Winchesters. She feigned disbelief in the truth behind the stories, but when he said "Becky it's all real", she squealed "I knew it!" After she delivered her message, and touched Sam repeatedly in awe, Bobby arrived with a book on the details of archangel Michael and his sword. Michael was supposedly the baddest archangel of all time, despite Dean's observation on his resemblance to Cate Blanchett, and was the one who'd sent Lucifer to Hell in the beginning. The castle on a hill of 42 dogs was code for John Winchester's storage locker.

10. Lucifer was a key character in season 5 of "Supernatural". How many episodes included Lucifer?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 5 Serious Fan Trivia

Answer: Six

Lucifer was in "Sympathy for the Devil," "Free to Be You and Me," "The End," "Abandon All Hope," "Hammer of the Gods," and "Swan Song."

11. "99 Problems"- A false prophet led the town of Blue Earth down the path of self-destruction. Who killed it?

From Quiz The End- Pt.31

Answer: Dean

The being was in the guise of the local preacher's daughter, Leah. At first, the Winchesters believed only the preacher, Gideon, could stake the false prophet. A true instrument of God was needed, and neither Winchester felt that applied to them. But, in the end Dean realized it was up to him to do it and it worked! When it worked, in that moment, Dean probably decided to hand his body over to Michael. The stake was made of cypress wood from Babylon and brought to the cause by Castiel.

12. "Swap Meat" - What was the name of the 17 year old who body-swapped Sam?

From Quiz Hospital, Hijacked, Hunted, Hunger, Haunted -Pt 30

Answer: Gary

Gary and his friends were trying to steal Dean, to sell him off to a demon. Gary loved being inside Sam's body. He went from a short, plain, geeky kid in a high pressure IQ bracket to a very tall, handsome, well muscled demon hunter. It took Dean a few hours to realize he had an impostor on his hands. Colton James played Gary. He's guest starred on "Dexter", "CSI" and "ER".

13. In "The Curious Case Of Dean Winchester", which person did we NOT see age either forward or backward?

From Quiz Idols, Offspring, Angels and Demons- Pt. 29

Answer: Sam

Bobby lost 25 years in an attempt to win back his legs. Patrick, a witch, used poker as his tool to win years and stay young forever. His wife, Lia, decided to help the men after Dean lost an even bigger amount and became so old that Chad Everett had to play the role. Sam said he could win the years back, after Dean had already won back Bobby's years, but lost his own. Sam was not the poker player Dean was, so Dean and Bobby thought it was a bad idea. And, despite Lia's help with a reversal spell, it ended up being up to Sam to save Dean's life. He did so, and then Lia played Patrick for her own right to die. She spoke of how it pained her to bury her own daughter, when the daughter was a very old woman. Patrick tried to convince her not to leave him, but gave in when he realized how tired she was. He watched her die right before his eyes, after winning enough years from her to accomplish her goal.

14. The horseman War said to Sam: "Honestly, people don't need a reason to kill each other. I mean, you seen the Irish? They're all ______ ."

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 5 Serious Fan Trivia

Answer: Irish

In "Good God, Y'all," the horseman War turned an entire town against each other. This quote was part of a longer speech he made to Sam about violent human nature. This was the first horseman episode. Famine's episode was "My Bloody Valentine." And, "Two Minutes to Midnight" included Pestilence and Death.

15. In the series' 100th episode, "Point of No Return", which long lost family member was brought back to life by the angels?

From Quiz The End- Pt.31

Answer: Adam- Sam and Dean's brother

Just when Zachariah thought he was toast, someone charged him with using Adam to lure Dean back into the beautiful room. The room could hold Dean and then he could be tormented into accepting Michael. All three Winchesters were trapped in that room, and once inside Dean killed Zachariah. Unfortunately, Dean could only get Sam out of the room before Adam was taken away by some unknown force. It could have been Michael or Lucifer, or perhaps even God. Adam' last name is actually Milligan, but he is a Winchester by blood.

16. "Good God, Y'all"- Castiel needed a special amulet that would glow/burn brightly in the presence of God. Which man was wearing it?

From Quiz Released Rebuilt Relinquished Reunited- Pt. 28

Answer: Dean

The boys were at the hospital visiting Bobby. He'd been injured badly in the episode prior and was possibly never going to walk again. Castiel called on the phone to find their location, and then showed up to get the amulet. Bobby was expecting Castiel to heal him, but the angel explained his powers had been greatly depreciated since his excommunication with Heaven. Also at the hospital, Dean had an x-ray that confirmed the special markings etched onto their bones to repel demonic detection. Dean told Castiel he felt naked without his necklace, which held the amulet that detected God.

17. At the end of "Changing Channels", the true identity of the Trickster was at long last revealed. Who was he?

From Quiz Idols, Offspring, Angels and Demons- Pt. 29

Answer: The archangel Gabriel

Castiel tried to warn the men that this could not be an ordinary Trickster, based on his intense powers. But, every time Cas located them, he was yanked away. They finally trapped Gabriel in a ring of holy fire and he admitted the truth. He also believed that fate was fate, and the sooner it all was said and done the better for all the angels who'd started the problem to begin with. Richard Speight Jr reprised his role as the Trickster/Gabriel.

18. In "The End," Zachariah sent Dean into the future to teach him the lesson that he should say "yes" to Michael. Dean, however, learned a different lesson. What lesson did he learn?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 5 Serious Fan Trivia

Answer: To stay with his brother

At the beginning of the episode, Sam called Dean and asked to come back. Dean said no. In the future, though, he realized that, after being separated, not only did his brother say "yes" to Lucifer, but Dean had lost his own humanity too, willing to sacrifice his friends. So, at the end of the episode, he called Sam and they teamed up again.

19. In the penultimate episode, "Two Minutes to Midnight", who gave Bobby back the use of his legs?

From Quiz The End- Pt.31

Answer: Crowley

Crowley offered Bobby a Crossroads deal- his soul to be borrowed in exchange for the location of the horseman called Death. Bobby agreed, much to the horror and shock of Sam and Dean. As they were readying to leave for Chicago, Crowley told Bobby that he hadn't asked for enough of an exchange. So, Crowley himself had secretly added the part about restoring Bobby the use of his legs. Bobby was now able to be back, right in the thick of the fight. Crowley wanted Bobby's soul to ensure that no one killed him during the fight.

20. "The Song Remains the Same" - Whose body did Michael inhabit to stop Anna?

From Quiz Hospital, Hijacked, Hunted, Hunger, Haunted -Pt 30

Answer: John Winchester

After a successful first battle with Anna, Mary led the group to a hideout. Anna recruited a younger looking Uriel to kill Sam and Dean. She told him that she would be his boss in the future and that he'd been killed by the brothers. He agreed to the task and attacked the hideout. In the battle, Anna injured John and killed Sam. In his weakened state, John Winchester allowed Michael to use his body to save Mary. While housed in his John suit, Michael told Dean exactly why Dean would allow Michael to use him (Dean) as his vessel. Then, he sent Sam, Dean and Castiel back to 2010. He also killed Anna and wiped Mary and John's memories of this event.

21. "Good God, Y'all"- Whose idea was it for Sam and Dean to part ways at the end of the episode?

From Quiz Released Rebuilt Relinquished Reunited- Pt. 28

Answer: Sam's

Dean figured out, based on a recent shooting star sighting, that the chaos in town was a piece of the apocalypse. The shooting star foretold the coming of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The one in town was to arrive on a red chariot and was named War. War literally had a red Ford Mustang parked in town, and Dean said if it were he, that would be the way he "rolled". The local priest seemed shocked beyond belief that they were indeed in the middle of the actual apocalypse. War revealed himself to both Sam and Dean, and attempted to get the people in town to kill them both. In the end, the Winchester men figured out that War was using a weird ring to control people, so they cut off his hand. Afterward, Sam admitted to Dean that he couldn't trust himself and that maybe they should part ways for a while. Dean agreed, and Sam left River Pass with someone else.

22. When Castiel told Dean about the archangel Raphael who killed him, Dean asked, "You were wasted by a ______ _____ ______ ______?"

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 5 Serious Fan Trivia

Answer: teenage mutant ninja angel & teenaged mutant ninja angel

In "Free to Be You and Me," Dean helped track down Raphael while Sam attempted to live a normal life working in a bar.

23. How did Dean get Death's ring in "Two Minutes to Midnight"?

From Quiz The End- Pt.31

Answer: Death handed it over to him

Death was the ultimate horseman. He told Dean he was older and more powerful than Lucifer, but sadly bound to a brat throwing a temper tantrum. Death told Dean that he wanted Lucifer stopped, and would simply hand over his ring to Dean. Dean had to agree to not interfere when Sam said "yes" to Lucifer and then would attempt to walk the angel into his cage. Dean reluctantly agreed, but later admitted he'd lied to Death. Julian Richings played Death. At this point Castiel had returned as completely human and could offer no supernatural aid to the fight. The ring was cut from the fingers of both Famine and Pestilence.

24. "My Bloody Valentine" - The Horseman known as Famine had caused a town to be filled with various forms of starvation. As a result, what was Castiel's particular over indulgence?

From Quiz Hospital, Hijacked, Hunted, Hunger, Haunted -Pt 30

Answer: over eating

Being an angel, food was not something Cas had to worry about. But, apparently his vessel could still take in food. So, Cas was seen eating more and more, finally culminating in a grotesque raw meat scene in the diner. In the meantime, Dean fought no starvation and Sam was fiending for demon blood.

25. At the end of "The Real Ghostbusters", who gave the Winchesters information on how to find the Colt?

From Quiz Idols, Offspring, Angels and Demons- Pt. 29

Answer: Becky

Becky knew that it was all true, so she told them that Bella had never given the Colt to Lilith at all, but to a demon named Crowley. Chuck had written it in the book, which of course gave him information the men did not get. He had the omniscient third party prophet perspective, but the men each only had their own points of view. She told them they needed to start back with Crowley. So, as much of a pain as she seemed, in the end she saw Chuck for the hero he was and offered the Winchesters a new path to look into in their pursuit to save the world.

26. In episode three of this season, "Free to be You and Me", Lucifer came to Sam in the guise of who?

From Quiz Released Rebuilt Relinquished Reunited- Pt. 28

Answer: Jessica

Just as he had when he first needed a body, Lucifer came as a woman. The first time, he came as the dead wife to Nick, played by Mark Pellegrino. He seduced Nick verbally, playing on the pain and rage Nick felt about his wife's death. This time, he came to Sam as Jessica. Jessica died in the very first episode of the series, prompting Sam to join Dean in the search for John Winchester. Lucifer/Jessica told Sam that it was meant to be that Sam be his vessel. He/she explained that his body was the only one strong enough, just as Dean's was the only one strong enough to house Michael the archangel. Since Sam and Dean had parted ways, I am sure Lucifer wanted to take advantage of the moment. Adrianne Palicki, maybe better known for her role as Tyra on "Friday Night Lights", reprised her role as Jessica Moore.

27. In "I Believe the Children are our Future," Castiel explained what about the Antichrist?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 5 Serious Fan Trivia

Answer: It is half human and half demon

In the episode, whatever Jesse believed came true, including his belief that itching powder would make one scratch their brains out, pop rocks and coke would land one in the hospital, the tooth fairy was real, etc. Sam was able to help the boy make the right choice and get away from the demons by telling him the truth.

28. "The End"- Zachariah decided to send Dean into an alternate time frame. Which year did Dean awaken to find himself residing within?

From Quiz Released Rebuilt Relinquished Reunited- Pt. 28

Answer: 2014

Dean was in the year 2014 and the croatoan virus had taken over the planet. The virus, similar to a zombie virus, caused humans to become seemingly mindless monsters. He decided to find Bobby, but when he got to Bobby's place all he found was his Impala, a shell of its former glory, and an older version of himself. Dean was the leader of the resistance and Castiel was a hippie, for lack of a better term.

29. In "Changing Channels," who asked, "When did you hit menopause?"

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 5 Serious Fan Trivia

Answer: Sam

At the beginning of the episode, Sam asked Dean what he was watching. Dean stated he was watching "Doctor Sexy MD," a fictional medical soap opera. Sam then asked this question.

30. In the final battle with Lucifer, what object saved the world?

From Quiz The End- Pt.31

Answer: the Impala

An narrated by Chuck the Prophet (aka as Carver Edlund) in the finale, the Impala was the most important car in the whole universe. Chuck: "On April 21, 1967, the 100 millionth GM vehicle rolled off the line at the plant in Janesville--a blue two-door Caprice. There was a big ceremony, speeches, the lieutenant governor even showed up. Three days later, another car rolled off that same line. No one gave two craps about her. But they should have. because that 1967 Chevrolet Impala would turn out to be the most important car--no, the most important object--in pretty much the whole universe." It was the car, and all the memories Sam had tied to it, that allowed Sam to take control over Lucifer. He opened the portal to Lucifer's cage, and began walking him to it. Michael arrived, after having been sent away with holy fire by Cas, and tried to stop it from happening. Instead, Michael (in Adam's body) got close enough for Sam to yank him down into the hole as well.
