Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I was born in 1946 to a famous actor and his writer actress wife, Mary Bell. I rose to fame as a child. I won a BAFTA Award for my first appearance in a movie, the 1959 "Tiger Bay". Who am I?

Answer: Hayley Mills

The delightful Hayley Mills is the daughter of the great English actor John Mills, and his wife, Mary Hayley Bell. The film that she is most known for perhaps is the 1960 "Pollyanna" in which she plays a young orphaned girl sent to live with her repressed and strict Aunty Polly. Pollyanna has a positive effect on everyone she meets, and finally manages to soften even the icy heart of her aunt at the film's conclusion. Hayley was also wonderful playing the role of the twins who were separated when they were very young, in the 1961 film "The Parent Trap". Finding each other a dozen years later, and coming from two vastly different backgrounds, the twins conspire to successfully unite their divorced parents into the one happy family again.
2. My father was a big name star of the 1940s and 1950s and the leading light in films such as the 1960 "Spartacus". I am just as big in my own right, winning an Academy Award for my role in the 1987 movie "Wall Street". Who am I?

Answer: Michael Douglas

"Wall Street" tells the story of a young stockbroker (Charlie Sheen) who is desperate to work his way to the top and win the influence and favour of a ruthless big name (Michael Douglas) on Wall Street. He gains his objective but is corrupted along the way by Douglas. "Greed is good!" is a memorable quote from the movie. Michael Douglas, born in 1944, is the brilliant acting son of Kirk Douglas and Diana Hill.

He has made many films and is noted for his quiet restrained acting style in most of them.

In 1999, following his divorce, he married actress Catherine Zeta-Jones. They have two children. In 2010, it was announced that Douglas was suffering from advanced throat cancer. He went into remission with this in 2011, but was informed by his doctors that it would be likely to re-emerge within a few years.
3. My father is best known for his appearances as George Costanza's father in the television series "Seinfeld" (1989-1998). I am a top name star today and the star of such films as the 2000 "Meet the Parents". Who am I?

Answer: Ben Stiller

Born in 1965 to the actors Jerry Stiller and Anna Meara, Ben Stiller plays the bumbling hero role to perfection in his films. Nowhere is this more evident than in the hilarious "Meet the Parents" film, made in 2000. He plays an anxious young man, Gaylord Focker (Greg), desperately in love with his girlfriend Pam.

She has taken him home to meet her parents. Made overwhelmingly nervous by Pam's father, an over the top retired CIA agent (played excellently by Robert de Niro), absolutely everything goes wrong for Greg during the course of this extremely funny movie.

It ends happily of course, and Stiller's comic genius is shown to perfection right throughout the film.
4. This is a third generation celebrity family. I have a big name Hollywood star for a grandfather, a famous aunt, Hanoi Jane, a famous father Peter, and I am a star in my own right with films such as the 1993 "Point of No Return" to my credit. Who am I?

Answer: Bridget Fonda

"Point of No Return" is an engrossing action movie in which the drug addict and murderess Maggie Hayward (Bridget Fonda) has been put to death by injection for her crimes. She awakes to find herself in a training centre for government assassins and has the choice of becoming one or dying in actuality. Excellent story line and beautifully acted by Fonda.

Born in 1964 to actor Peter Fonda and artist Jane Brewer, Bridget refused all coaching tips from her famous family and chose to become an actress through professional training academies instead.

Her film debut, a non-speaking part, was in the film her father made famous, "Easy Rider", made in 1969. She was all of five at the time. Fonda has made a number of movies, but in 2002, she stopped accepting roles to concentrate on her marriage and family. Still unseen by 2012, it is to be hoped that this powerful actress will return to the silver screen once more.

Her famous grandfather of course was the great Henry Fonda.
5. My famous mother has been nervous of showers for many years following her appearance in a film featuring this modern convenience. I am known for such excellent films as the 1994 "True Lies". Who am I?

Answer: Jamie Lee Curtis

"True Lies" tells the story of a bored, everyday working wife and mother (Jamie Lee Curtis) who discovers that her mild-mannered, hard working husband (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is actually a top of the range CIA operative. By a series of incidents, she is drawn into his fast-moving and dangerous world as he and she both try to stop terrorists from raining nuclear terror down upon America. Jamie Lee, who was born in 1958, has the famous actress Janet Leigh ("Psycho" fame) and actor Tony Curtis for parents.

Her sister Kelly Curtis, is also a well known actress. Jamie Lee has been married to actor Christopher Guest since 1984. He is a Baron, having inherited a Baroncy in England on the death of his father. The couple have two children. In addition to her acting roles, Jamie Lee Curtis does a vast amount of work for charity.
6. My famous mother is known for her giggle and for being the star of such films as "Bird on a Wire" (1990). I am a star in my own right, and can be seen in films such as "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" (2003). Who am I?

Answer: Kate Hudson

"How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" tells the story of a women's magazine writer who decides to run an experiment to see if she can break up a relationship, by doing everything possibly wrong in that relationship, and breaking all the rules magazine writers usually offer as advice.

It's a delightful comedy and ends up romantically and happily. Kate's famous mother is Goldie Hawn and the resemblance between the two stars can be quite startling at times. Kate's father is the American musician, Bill Hudson. Kate is one of those rarities in Hollywood - sensible and down to earth, refusing to let fame go to her head.
7. My father was the star of such productions as the series "Sea Hunt" which ran from 1958 to 1961. I have an equally famous brother. I am known for films such as the 1984 science-fiction "Starman". Who am I?

Answer: Jeff Bridges

I have many successful films to my name. "Starman" was just one of them. In it I play the role of an alien being who has cloned the body of a woman's dead husband. It's an entertaining Sci-Fi film, involving humans trying to capture me, a romance with the widow of my cloned body, an impregnation, and a somewhat sad ending where I return to the stars again, leaving my yet to be born child in the hands of his beautiful and capable mother.

Born in 1949 to actors Lloyd Bridges and Dorothy Simpson, my brother Beau and I grew up quite at ease in the silver screen world of make believe.

As I grew older I served for eight years in the US Coast Guard Reserve before turning to acting. I married my wife Susan in 1977 and together we have three beautiful daughters. I'm also a practising Buddhist and spent a great deal of my spare time working for organisations to help put a stop to childhood hunger.
8. I am famous for my famous father and his blue suede shoes. Though less well known, I am a singer and songwriter as well, with several albums of music to my credit. Who am I?

Answer: Lisa Marie Presley

My father, Elvis Presley, married my mother Priscilla after a seven year courtship. Born in 1968, I was their only child and inherited his vast fortune upon his death. Fortunately my mother, who went on to become a well known actress in her own right, managed my affairs sensibly and brought me up to be fairly level-headed. I have made a career with my own music, more blues than any other genre perhaps - and am almost as well known for my unfortunate marriages.

These include one to musician Danny Keogh which lasted from 1988 to 1994, another to singer Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996, a third to actor Nicolas Cage from 2002 until 2004, and a fourth to musician Michael Lockwood whom I married in 2006. We have twin daughters. My other two children, a boy and a girl, were born during my first marriage. So you see, my father will never be forgotten, one way or the other. Apart from my music and my family, I devote any spare time to charities seeking to solve illiteracy problems and homelessness, working with terminally ill children, and helping manage the charitable foundation that we set up in Dad's name.
9. Old Blue Eyes, my father, was better known than I am, but I still had a reasonable career as a singer and actress. I am well known for my boots. Who am I?

Answer: Nancy Sinatra

Born in 1940 to Frank Sinatra and his wife Nancy, I am better known as a singer than an actress. My hit songs include the 1967 song "Somethin' Stupid" which dad sang with me, the 1967 song from the film of the same name, "You Only Live Twice", and of course, my most famous number, the 1966 "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'". I was married to actor and singer Tommy Sand from 1960 to 1965. My second marriage, which produced two daughters, was from 1970 to 1985, when sadly, my husband, Hugh Lambert, died. I have acted in several films along the way, but am more well known, and successful, as a singer. My films included the 1968 film "Speedway" with Elvis Presley.

He was a race-car driver in the movie and I played his romantic interest. We were considered an item there for a short while, both on and off the screen, but Priscilla put paid to that.
10. My father was a great actor on the big screen, featuring in films such as the 1967 "Dirty Dozen". Though I also have films to my credit, I'm seen more on the small screen, sometimes for up to 24 hours a day. Who am I?

Answer: Kiefer Sutherland

Kiefer Sutherland was born in 1966, to the great actor Donald Sutherland and his actress wife Shirley Douglas. Not only is he known for his acting, he is also quite an accomplished director and producer as well. The role for which he is most identified is his series of the "24" action show in which he plays the valiant agent Jack Bauer, defending his country against all assailants. Kiefer's grandfather was the noted Canadian politician, Tommy Douglas. Something perhaps most people don't realise is that Kiefer has a twin sister.

She works behinds the scenes in the television production industry in Canada. Kiefer has one child from his first marriage, and his second marriage, which produced no children, ended in divorce as well. He was engaged to actress Julia Roberts in 1990, but three days before their planned 1991 wedding, she broke off the engagement and fled to Europe with his friend, Jason Patric.

In addition to his acting, producing and directing, Kiefer also paints, collects guitars and is an avid football and rodeo fan.
