The plot in "Legend Of The Lost" (1957) concerns Wayne and Loren searching for a lost city of treasure in the Sahara desert but despite the story line and the actors, the film flopped, grossing just over $2 million at the box office, compared to the year's top movie "Bridge Over The River Kwai" (1957) which grossed over $17 million.

Answer: Will Geer

In the early 1950s, Geer refused to testify before the House Committee on Un-American Activities, a House of Representatives investigation into people believed to have Communist sympathies, and as a result, was blacklisted by Hollywood. His career didn't really take off again until the mid 1960s, and by 1972, he had found his famous Grandpa Zebulon Tyler Walton role, which he played for the first six seasons of the show.

In 1951, he started the Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga, California, an open air theatre for blacklisted actors and folk musicians, where he combined his loves of acting and botany by ensuring that every plant mentioned in the works of Shakespeare was grown there. Geer?s ashes were scattered there following his death in 1978.
