Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Everyone knows about this crazy little gopher that took over as the main character in this movie about golfing. If that hint doesn't give you a hole in one, maybe you'll recall Rodney Dangerfield saying, "no respect" in this film. What golfing movie is this?

Answer: Caddyshack

Rodney Dangerfield played the role of Al Czervik in this cute 1980 movie with Chevy Chase and Ted Knight. Every time you would see Dangerfield, he always had a one liner. Not the nicest comments either. "Oh, this your wife, huh? A lovely lady. Hey baby, you must've been something before electricity."

The main character was the gopher that Bill Murray was obsessed with trying to get rid of. At the end of the movie you can see the gopher dancing to the song, "I'm Alright" by Kenny Loggins. Does the gopher get 'ironed', so to speak? Watch the movie and find out!
2. In the television show, "Everybody Loves Raymond", there was an episode titled "Golf" in 1997. Ray Barone was telling his wife how he got this 'weird feeling in the locker room after playing golf...' She came back with what remark?

Answer: "Ray, you are not gay."

In the second season Ray suffered from an anxiety attack while golfing. He actually went to a doctor, not knowing what the attack was. The doctor suggested he play more golf. Kevin James, from "King of Queens" was a guest star on this episode too.
3. Is the movie "The Legend of Bagger Vance" based on a true story?

Answer: no

This novel was written by Steven Pressfield. The movie tells the story of Rannulph Junuh, who was played by Matt Damon and his struggles with finding his game. Bagger Vance, a caddy played by Will Smith, comes along and helps him 'refind' his game. Not just teaching him the basics of golf, but going a step further with teaching him to find himself.

Robert Redford directs this delightful and entertaining movie that also stars Charlize Theron.
4. Everyone loves that crazy red headed comedian, Lucille Ball. One episode titled, "The Golf Game" of "I Love Lucy", which has Lucy and Ethel playing golf with a real Champion Golfer. Who did they play with?

Answer: Jimmy Demaret

This is a cute episode where Ricky and Fred just want to relax and play golf without their spouses. Of course Lucy and Ethel have no intention of sitting home. They join their husbands for a fun game of golf. Little do they know that their husbands are teaching them the WRONG way to play. Enter Jimmy Demaret, who tells the girls that they have just been played, and not the real way.

As always, Lucy has to show her husband that she's no dummy. She plays a trick on him and the laughs continue.
5. All I need to do is mention Adam Sandler's name and you'll find this movie. So, what I think I'll do is mention his fight scene on the golf course with a certain celebrity. Who 'came on down' to play golf with Happy Gilmore in the movie, "Happy Gilmore"?

Answer: Bob Barker

Happy Gilmore was not a golfer, he was a hockey player. Well, in his eyes maybe, but he was definitely not a hockey player. He needed to help out his grandmother with some money to pay the back taxes on her home. What does he do? He plays golf. During the movie he is teamed up with Bob for a Celebrity Golf Tournament. Needless to say Bob is not happy with Happy's golfing and starts picking on him.

The fight starts and they are rolling on the ground in a full blown fight. I laugh at the "the price is wrong" comment by Happy.
6. Do you remember back in 1962, the old black and white television shows? Ward was golfing and got a little upset with his game and broke one of his clubs. Of course, here comes The Beaver and uses the club and completely breaks it, again. What club was it that was broken?

Answer: Driver

This episode aired on January 6, 1962. Ward, who was played by Hugh Beaumont, had broken the head off the driver. When the Beaver, who was played by Jerry Mathers, played with the club, the head came off again.

These were when television shows actually had good moral stories. Things you should and should not do. They were good wholesome shows. Made you want to be just like the Cleavers.
7. This is by far my favorite golfing movie. The movie is a true story of Francis Ouimet. What is the name of this movie directed by Bill Paxton?

Answer: The Greatest Game Ever Played

The movie shows how the little guy can end up on top. Shia LaBeouf plays the role of Francis so outstandingly. Yet, there is one person in this film that stands way out. Short little Eddie Lowery, who was the caddy for Francis. He came out with the best lines in the movie.

His role was to make sure that Francis not only did well, but play the best he could. "Read it, roll it, hole it." No more said!
8. Your favorite housekeeper has taken up golf. His 'boss' wins him a country club membership to play with the 'uppity' people. Who are the two main characters in this cute television show, "Who's the Boss?"

Answer: Tony Micelli and Angela Bower

I love listening to Tony talk with his, 'a o, o a' comments. Tony wasn't quite the 'uppity' kind of guy for the club, but rich Lowell Michaels, took him under his wings and became friends with him.

Tony Danza played the role of Tony Micelli from 1984 to 1992. Judith Light played the role of Angela Bower for the same amount of time. These two had a 'spark' between them, for sure.
9. Luke Chisholm needed to get away, to just escape. He spent how many days in Utopia in this golfing movie?

Answer: Seven

"Seven Days in Utopia" stars Lucas Black as Chisholm. He meets up with Johnny Crawford, who is played by Robert Duvall. Johnny doesn't take it easy on him. He makes Luke look at things differently. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, but it did seem to be missing something. Very bland at times where you wanted to sleep, but stick with it.

The movie was actually filmed in Utopia, Texas.
10. Which character on the television show, "Seinfeld" gets help from a caddy to improve their golf game?

Answer: Kramer

This wacky foursome of characters kept us laughing for years. Kramer, who was played by Michael Richards gets some pointers from a caddy, however, after an accident, he attempts to sue the woman who supposedly injured his 'golfing arm'. How did the accident occur? Well, lets just say she had a couple of large assets that were involved, not little golf balls.

I hope you enjoyed this quiz. It was a fun challenge!
