Answer: Bill Watts

"Cowboy" Bill Watts placed the two men together in 1979. Though initially intended only to be a two-person tag team, Bill Watts would add a third member to the team. Dale Hey, or as he is better known, Buddy "Jack" Roberts was added by Watts to enhance the team's wrestling ability. Bill was not as impressed with Michael's in-ring skills as his ability to cut a promo. Thus Roberts, a successful tag team wrestler, was brought in to help get the Freebirds over as a team. The decision proved to be a perfect one as the three wrestlers would hold a great many single and tag team titles during their tenure as a team. Before becoming the head of the Mid-South Wrestling and then the Universal Wrestling Federation, Bill was an accomplished wrestler himself. He would hold several regional titles including the NWA Florida Heavyweight Championship on three separate occasions.

Answer: Jerry Lawler

Jerry "The King" Lawler was the head booker for Continental Wrestling Association Championship Wrestling. At the time, Jerry was looking to put together a team to rival the popularity of The Fabulous Ones. He put both men together and booked them with the gimmick of glam rockers. Ricky and Robert would capture the AWA Southern Tag Team Titles on two separate occasions. Continental Wrestling Association was affiliated with both the AWA and NWA. Jerry would defeat Kerry Von Erich in a highly controversial match to win the AWA World Heavyweight Championship. Jerry would report in interviews years later that Kerry was on a chemical substance at the time of their bout. Jerry had to carry Kerry during the bout just to make it look believable. An unfortunate casualty of Vince McMahon's strategy to monopolize the wrestling business. The promotion closed after their final show on December 6, 1989

Answer: The Kiwis

The Kiwis first started wrestling in NWA New Zealand in the latter part of the 1960s. The team was unable to capture the territories tag titles. Butch and Luke would move to Stampede Wrestling in Canada. The late Stu Hart operated the promotion. While in Stampede wrestling, they wrestled as The Kiwis, but their names were Sweet William and Nick Carter. They would win their first title while working for Stampede. The Kiwis would hold the Stampede International Tag Team Championships on two occasions. Their combined days as reigning champions was ten days shy of two hundred days.

Randy Colley and Bill Eadie made their television debut as the tag team Demolition on January 17, 1987. Colley played Smash while Eadie played Ax. The team wore black leather outfits and face paint. Luscious Johnny V served as their manager. Barry Darsow replaced Randy Colley as the Smash character on February 14, 1987. Later in 1987, Mister Fuji purchased the contracts of Demolition from Luscious Johnny V.

It was there they met "The Trainer of Champions" the famous Eddie Sharkey. In addition to Hawk and Animal the list of Sharkey's other students include the likes of Rick Rude, Nikita Koloff, Barry Darsow, The Warlord and The Steiner Brothers. Not a bad resume, huh!

Young stars Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton were paired together by Bill Watts who dubbed the team "The Fantastics". Wearing top hats, neon colored vests and using ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man" as their entrance theme they quickly became very popular. Before bouts Rogers and Fulton would walk around ringside shaking hands, giving high fives and even kissing the female fans. Competing in The UWF, WCCW and The NWA the duo won gold and had memorable feuds with The Midnight Express and The Sheepherders. In 1989 Rogers went solo and Fulton continued the team for several years with younger brother Jackie.

The pair was managed by "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart. "The Hart Foundation" quickly rose in the tag team ranks. They faced "The British Bulldogs" on February 7Th, 1987 and won the titles. This was always my favorite "heel" tag team. They were amazing in the ring and Jimmy's role on the outside made them excellent. They held the titles on two separate occasions.

Bobby joined the Mid-South Wrestling territory and was paired up with Dennis Condrey. Bobby along with Dennis recreated the team of "The Midnight Express". Before long Bobby and Dennis won the Mid-South Tag Team Championship from Magnum T.A. and Mr. Wrestling II.

They defeated The Hart Foundation in their "Wrestlemania" debut in 1991. They used a biker's helmet to assist them in winning. They lost the belts to the Road Warriors that same year. They had many feuds in that company and took on anyone that wanted a fight. They went on to World Championship Wrestling and had some great brawls with Public Enemy and even Cactus Jack. They used disgusting moves to help win their matches. One that stands out, was the Pit Stop where one member of the Nasty Boys put their opponents face in to the other one's armpit.

Michael would often brag about how good-looking he thought he was. His arrogant attitude would shine through when he would cut a promo for the tag team. Michael was one fierce competitor in the ring. He was not afraid to use illegal tactics to ensure a win for his brothers. Michael was born Michael Seitz on March 29, 1959. Besides the ring name Michael Hayes, he would also perform under the name Dok Hendrix where he would most notably manage The Hardy Boyz in the WWE.
