When the old Kelda went back to the land of the living, Jeannie came over from the Long Lake Clan and married Rob Anybody. At the start she seems to dislike Tiffany, but she still sends Rob to protect her.

2. What was the name of the witch that Tiffany went to live with to learn the craft?

Answer: Miss Level

Tiffany went to live with Miss Level on the recommendation of Granny Weatherwax. Miss Level was a very unusual witch, because there were two of her. Most people assumed she was twins, and she did nothing to discourage this.

3. Tiffany's teacher had an invisible helper who was obsessed with tidiness. What was the name of this ondageist?

Answer: Oswald

Miss Level didn't know if Oswald was male or not, she just pictured him as a 'worried little man, with a dustpan and brush'. To keep him out of the way in the kitchen, Miss Level would mix the salt and sugar together, and let Oswald separate them again.

4. When we first meet Tiffany in "A Hat Full of Sky", she is looking at herself in her new dress. What colour is it?

Answer: Pale green

It was unusual for Tiffany to have a new dress, so it was bought oversize so she would grow into it. She also wore a new pair of boots and a straw hat.

5. What was the name of the old man that the 'possessed' Tiffany stole from, to go shopping?

Answer: Mr Weavall

Mr Weavall kept his money in a box under his chair. He had saved a large amount so he could pay for his own funeral. Later, when his missing money had been replaced by the Feegles, he went off to propose to the Widow Tussy. Mr Crabber was the cart driver that took Tiffany, and later the Feegles, to Two Shirts. Henry was his horse.

6. Throughout "A Hat Full of Sky" we read small extracts from a book about Fairy Folk. Who wrote it?

The book is titled 'Fairies and How to Avoid Them'. According to the book, the Nac Mac Feegles are the most dangerous of the fairies, particularly when drunk. It is said that this is the reason they were thrown out of Fairyland.

7. Does Death make an appearance in the story?

Answer: Yes

He appears towards the end when Tiffany and Rob Anybody are trying to return to their own world after sending the Hiver across the desert. He warns Tiffany not to fall asleep in the desert, because there, sleep lasts forever.

8. At the witch trials, Petulia performs the pig trick. What does she use?

Answer: A sausage

We never actually find out what the pig trick is. But Petulia is very good at it, especially without a pig.

9. What is the name of the young witch that tries to lead the other girls at the Sabbat?

Answer: Annagramma

Annagramma studies with Mrs Earwig, and even though witches do not have leaders, Annagramma seems to think that she is one.

10. Before the Hiver leaves to cross the desert in Death's country, Tiffany gives it a name? What did she call him?

Answer: Arthur

Tiffany was trying to get the Hiver to be a 'me' instead of an 'us'. She said that a name would help, and as she always liked the name Arthur, she gave it to the Hiver.
