Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. On a popular Pokemon site (http://www.pojo.com), what was the rating Ness gave to Cleffa on the card of the day scale?

Answer: 10.0

Cleffa is truly a broken card. If you have one, play it in your deck. If you play it, it will almost always save you if you draw it. When you have a hand full of trainers that will help you later, will you throw them away for a new hand? If you can finish the game quickly, it might be OK but if you can't do it than use Eeeeeeek.

The "Popular Pokemon Site" mentioned is http://www.pojo.com.
2. What is the downside of Pokemon-ex when they are knocked out?

Answer: Your opponent will draw 2 prizes.

Pokemon-ex may be very strong, but they have a huge downside when they are knocked out. Not only that, most times they have TWO Weaknesses! That's not that bad but think about this, let's take Scyther EX. It's an 80HP Pokemon and when you knock it out, your opponent will get 2 prizes! That's just like playing 2 useless 40HP Pokemon!
3. What is the retreat cost of Jungle Snorlax?

Answer: 4

Retreat is very important for the Pokemon-TCG. One main reason is because if your active Pokemon is confused and you had no switch, for Snorlax you would have to pay 4 retreat for a 50-50 chance of retreating. That's like throwing 2 energies down the drain. It can stall, but it can give time for your opponent to stall too because it cannot retreat easily.
4. Which of these Pokemon has no retreat cost?

Answer: Jumpluff (Neo 1)

Hitmonchan and Electabuzz both have a retreat cost of 2. Jumpluff is a 70HP Stage 2 Pokemon. But don't count Hitmonchan and Electabuzz as bad because they can do good damage with very little energy.
5. Which of these Pokemon has the highest HP?

Answer: Charizard

Lots of people say Charizard is bad, but it's at least good at 2 things. STALLING! With 120HP it can stall lots of turns and give you time to win the game. But like I mentioned before, it can make time for your opponent to win because of its high retreat cost of 3. The second one is if you want to knock out a really powerful Pokemon, Charizard might be useful.
6. What does Eeeeeeek do? (Cleffa)

Answer: Shuffle, then draw 7 cards

Eeeeeeek is like an elm, shuffle then draw 7 cards. This attack truly makes Cleffa amazing. You're probably asking, what about its stalling moves? Its stalling moves mean nothing. When you want stalling, go for Haunter's Transparency Pokemon Power.
7. What is a rule that limits players to using it once per turn?

Answer: Attach Energy

You can only attach an energy once per turn. Sometimes rules like Blastoise's Rain Dance let you attach as many water energies as you like, and that's why Blastoise is broken. Other Pokemon like Typhlosion can also attach another fire energy. But I'm talking about most turns in general.
8. Which of these Pokemon is the worst? (All 30HP)

Answer: Gastly

Base Gastly truly stinks - it has no damaging attack for almost no use. Let's say sleeping gas, if you're lucky you may be able to stall. But Destiny Bond is even worse. You get to stall, but it's throwing down a psychic energy each turn. Eventually you'll run out and you're going to lose the game.
9. Does Base Gastly have a weakness?

Answer: No

Gastly doesn't have a weakness. It doesn't really matter because with just 30HP it won't last very long without a gold berry, a defender, or a focus band (highly not recommended).
10. Which of these Pokemon can evolve 2 times?

Answer: Dratini

Dratini-Dragonair-Dragonite make up a tree. The others only have 2 stages. Ratatta-Raticate, Meowth-Persian, Ekans-Arbok. In the trading card game, I'd pick Dragonair because Dragonite needs 3 different kinds of energy and it just stinks. Dragonair can stall by removing energies.
