Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Robin is the sidekick in this show based on the DC comic of the same name.

Answer: Batman

Batman began as a comic book hero in 1939. Robin was first introduced a year later.
2. Boo Boo may be the sidekick in this show, but he's definitely smarter than the average main character.

Answer: The Yogi Bear Show

Yogi Bear is well-known for his hare-brained plans to steal picnic baskets. Boo Boo is usually ready with a naive and occasionally quite funny remark upon Yogi's failure.
3. Patrick is the good-hearted, though rather dull, sidekick in this tale of adventures under the sea.

Answer: SpongeBob SquarePants

SpongeBob is an immensely popular series from Nickelodeon. Patrick is the pink starfish who shares most of SpongeBob's adventures. He only weighs 2 ounces according to his driver's license.
4. Chuckie is Tommy's sidekick in this hilarious show.

Answer: Rugrats

"Rugrats" is shown from the perspective of four toddlers. Tommy Pickles is the main character, with his best friend Chuckie and the twins, Phil and Lil, rounding out the group. They have many adventures, often started due to the lies of Tommy's slightly older cousin, Angelica.
5. Boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do. In one of these shows this Boots is gonna walk right next to who?

Answer: Dora the Explorer

You might have recognized the paraphrased lyrics of Nancy Sinatra's classic song "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" and that's exactly what Dora and Boots do every episode as they try to reach their destination through several different locales.
6. Gerald is the hip, athletic sidekick of a football head on this show about growing up in Hillwood.

Answer: Hey Arnold!

Hillwood, the setting for "Hey Arnold!", was based on several cities including Seattle and Portland according to the show's creator in a 1998 interview. It was the first Nickolodeon show to use real children for the voices of its characters.
7. The sidekick of this show didn't get a name until the program hit the big screen in 2006. Prior to that, he was only known as 'The Man in the Yellow Hat'.

Answer: Curious George

In the 2006 movie adaptation, it is revealed his name is Ted. Despite being more of a sidekick, he does all of the talking since George is a monkey. George manages to communicate quite well with motions and drawings, though.
8. Barney Rubble is a sidekick from the Stone Age in this show set in Bedrock, a town right out of history.

Answer: The Flintstones

Barney acts quite foolish, but he invented a hand-powered helicopter, so how dumb could he be? He lives next door to the show's main character, Fred, with his wife Betty and their adopted son Bamm-Bamm.
9. This show features a high-tech sleuth who solves crimes without realizing he has a sidekick. If only he knew how much help he received from his niece, Penny, and her dog, Brain.

Answer: Inspector Gadget

Inspector Gadget is quite brave, but considerably more lucky. His many gadgets never respond correctly to his activation commands, and he would almost assuredly fail any mission where Penny and Brain weren't guiding him from the background.
10. Heffer is the aptly named sidekick of this series, about a wallaby who moves to the U.S. Together, they deal with Ed Bighead and a host of other problems.

Answer: Rocko's Modern Life

Heffer's name is appropriate because he is a cow (although a heifer is a young, female cow who has not had any calves). When called a cow, however, he makes sure to let you know he's a steer. He was actually raised by wolves, although none of their intelligence seems to rubbed off on him.
