The Mysterious Pensieve: Part 1 Quiz

The mysterious object that Harry has come across is the Pensieve - "A shallow stone basin lay there, with odd carvings around the edge; runes and symbols that Harry did not recognise..." So little does he know that this stone basin and its contents would later become very important in the hunt for Voldemort.

You and Harry have come across the teenage Snape taking his Defence Against the Dark Arts O.W.L. "Snape-the-teenager had a stringy pallid look about him, like a plant kept in the dark..." 'Pale and peaky' described Remus Lupin, a mirror image of Dudley Dursley was one that I made up myself and 'like a dog that has scented a rabbit' was Sirius when he spotted Snape and wanted some fun.

This mirror image, for those of you who haven't guessed yet, is Harry's father, James Potter. "It was as though he was looking at himself but with deliberate mistakes. James's eyes were hazel, his nose was slightly longer than Harry's, and there was no scar on his forehead, but they had the same thin face, the same mouth, same eyebrows; James's hair stuck up at the back exactly as Harry's did, his hands could have been Harry's and Harry could tell that, when James stood up, they would be within an inch of each other in height..."

'Snape' is obviously Severus Snape, 'Chorley' is the last name for the Muggle Prime Minister's Junior Minister, Herbert Chorley, and 'Verity' is the name of the shop assistant in Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes.

Answer: Transfiguration

Sirius claimed that he was bored and wished that it was full moon. ' "You might," said Lupin... " We've still got Tranfiguration..." '

Answer: Dark red hair, green eyes

Harry's mouth had dropped open because he had just seen his mother. 'She had thick, dark red hair that fell to her shoulders, and startlingly green, almond shaped eyes - Harry's eyes..." James had written her initials on the exam paper earlier, and it was pretty clear that she was one of the only people that he would stop bullying Snape for.
