Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Snorlax Origin: Which Pokémon does Snorlax evolve from?

Answer: Munchlax

Munchlax is a Normal-type baby Pokémon which evolves into Snorlax by happiness. It shares the Snorlax's extensive love for food and special abilities, but it is much more active and does not mind having to walk or run around to find food.
2. Snorlax Physiology: Which of these does NOT correctly describe a physical characteristic of a Snorlax?

Answer: Bottom fur resembles a tattered dress

Snorlax's body is made up mainly of a large round belly. It also has a large head with pointed cat-like ears, three large claws on its giant feet, teal blue or green fur, and two sharp teeth protruding from its mouth as if the result of an underbite. A Munchlax, however, has ragged fur around its feet and bottom that looks as if it's wearing a dress, and isn't nearly as cute as its evolved form.
3. Snorlax Diet: Snorlax have eccentric eating habits, but it's not that they're picky about what they eat. Which of these best describes what is special about Snorlax's relationship with food?

Answer: All of these are true

Snorlax's life mainly consists of sleeping and eating. And when it is awake, it will eat about 900 pounds of food before going back to sleep. This can include food that is spoiled or has fallen on the ground. Not to worry, Snorlax's stomach has special digestive juices that can break down anything harmful in its food, so the little guy will never suffer from a tummy ache!
4. Snorlax Behavior: Snorlax are somewhat infamous for always sleeping in places that block paths. Which of these items could you use to wake the little critter from his peaceful slumber?

Answer: Poké Flute.

While there is no doubt a Snorlax would wake up on its own to fill its tummy, this is not the only way to wake one up. A Trainer can awaken one by playing a Poké Flute or even with Pokégear set to the Poké Flute channel. Neither the Snorlax Flute nor the Snorlax Whistle exist.

Please be considerate when you come across a Snorlax enjoying a snooze and use caution, as they are reported to become very grumpy if their rest is disturbed!
5. Snorlax Ability: Snorlax have a special ability which protects them from heat- and cold-based attacks. It also sounds like something Snorlax have been cleverly collecting in reserve. What is the name of this ability?

Answer: Thick Fat

While Magma Armor also protects against freezing, Thick Fat is the ability which the plump Snorlax boast. Not to mention it's something they've got a lot of in their tummies. Just when you thought gluttony had no real purpose.
6. Snorlax Physiology: It is reported that 12.5% of the Snorlax population is female. How would you tell if you spotted a girl Snorlax?

Answer: You couldn't tell

Snorlax boys and girls have no differences between them, they are all alike! They've successfully managed to avoid any silly stereotypes associated with females such as large lips, thin frames and the color pink.
7. Snorlax Moves: Snorlax have a particular move that can be used in battle which seems to demonstrate their huge potential in wrestling. It also serves as a visual representation of why you shouldn't tranquilize a Snorlax while it's standing up. What is this move called?

Answer: Body Slam

While Snorlax are capable of using the move Snore, if they were to fall asleep while standing up the result would resemble the falling forward belly-down motion which is used to inflict the move Body Slam on opponents which probably aren't looking forward to becoming pancakes.

They can also perform this move by jumping up into the air before landing on their victim. Stomp and Headbutt are moves that Snorlax do not possess.
8. Snorlax Appearances: A hungry Snorlax once found his way onto the Grapefruit Islands where he proceeded to eat all of the-- what else?-- grapefruits and be a nuisance to the islands' caretakers. In which aptly named episode did this hooliganism take place?

Answer: Snack Attack!

Snorlax made his first appearance in the episode "Wake Up Snorlax!" and had another major role in "The Garden of Eatin'". "The Grapefruit Islands", however, is not the name of an episode. This particular Snorlax went on to be the well known Ash's Snorlax.
9. Snorlax Appearances: A very fit and active Snorlax had a major appearance in a Pokéathalon-themed episode entitled "A Marathon Rivalry!" in which he raced against Ash's Pikachu. Did Snorlax win the race?

Answer: Yes

The two seemed to finish the race at the same time, so closer inspection was required by the judges to determine a winner. The judges determined that Snorlax's belly passed the finish line first, so Snorlax and his trainer Daniel were the winners of the Pokéathlon.
10. Snorlax Names: Which of these is NOT another name for Snorlax, in a different language?

Answer: Unikeko

Kabigon is in Japanese, Relaxo is in German, and Ronflex is in French. Unikeko, however, just means "sleepyhead" in the Finnish language, and does not refer to Snorlax. Not all languages have their own name for Snorlax.
